Historic downtown Baltimore hotel. 3 blocks to Inner Harbor

56 year old with a luxury budget, traveling for leisure
This hotel is conveniently located in the heart of downtown Baltimore in a magnificent Art Deco style building. The room was spacious, and comfortable, nicely appointed, and I found the air conditioning very effective. We were located on the 14th floor in a room facing Baltimore's clock tower, and we decided to keep the curtains open to enjoy its soft glow when we retired for the evening. Our major problem with our room was its bed. The hotel featured the Select Comfort Sleep Number Bed and ours had 2 of them. The problem was both of them were defective. My side deflated over the evening, and my wife's side didn't inflate at all. The other bed was set at "0" and refused to function at all. I pointed this fact out the hotel manager, and he nicely comped my overnight parking. One other thing I really appreciated was although we arrived at 9:30 AM on Saturday morning, the check-in person granted us admittance to our room. This allowed us to unload our luggage from our car (which was valet parked) and stow it in a locked room so we could get right down to the harbor events. It's a long 3 block walk to the Inner Harbor, so wear appropriate footwear. Not knowing the town, we were a little concerned about walking back to the hotel at 10PM, but there were many other tourists walking around and we felt very comfortable. What struck me about this part of Baltimore was how clean the streets were; free of litter, and general dirt. We enjoyed the weekend, and would stay there again. Just give me normal bed!
