35 year old with a moderate budget, traveling for business
Stayed in the hotel in early March 2009 for almost a week. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful and the restaurant is much improved (had stayed here previously and it was a Bennigan's; now it goes by the name Legends and is a few steps up the ladder), enjoyed breakfast and dinner there although I thought their dining facility was a little outdated in some ways (flat panel TVs anyone?). Compliments to chef and service. The bar was a little less than hoped for. I don't like visiting Rochester generally but the Riverside is a decent place.
I am very likely
to return to the Radisson Hotel Rochester Riverside.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.

Excellent
Great accomodations attached by enclosed corridor to the riverside convention center, where we were going. Travelocity listed our room as having 2 double beds, but we were pleased to find the room had 2 queens instead. Comfortable beds each had...

Mediocre
I was in Rochester for the weekend attending a wedding. I was disgusted on Saturday when I was getting in the elevator that a 2-3" bug scurried across the floor and up the wall. I went down to the front desk and spoke with xyz whos only response...
46 year old female with a moderate budget, traveling for business
Upon my arrival, I requested a smoking room. I was informed that I could not be accommodated but nothing would be amiss if I smoked in the room. The bathroom was not clean. Hair, dust, debris was on the floor and in the shower. The toilet ran for several minutes until I started shaking the handle. I requested to move to another room and I was accommodated. It was not any better. I was tired, so I stayed and I was miserable. My flight did not leave until 5pm so that I requested an extended day. I stayed at the hotel for 5 days. I was granted that extension but I was locked out after I arrived back to my hotel room after 12noon. The bedding, towels and ice container were dirty. The majority of staff seemed disgruntled. There was no communication between staff due to "they might not know how to do this correctly". Training is needed for staff on knowledge of hotel procedures and sensitivity to their guests.
Beds were acceptable, housekeeping was sloppy, towels not replaced, toilet paper and tissues ran out after 2-3 days, some light fixtures didn't work. Thankfully, A/C was functioning. The restaurant served excellent meals at a very fair price. The meal catering for conferences was quite good.

Horrible
The hotel staff is unfriendly and unresponsive. I had to wait more than 45 minutes for any request to follow through and required me to repeat requests. The only good aspect of Clarion was the shuttle service. I would not stay here again.
