We attended the ABRA congress at MSU for several years now. After spending all day in the show barn it is a releif to be able to relax in our rooms. The rooms are clean, the staff very helpful. We fully enjoyed our stay.
In a word - AVOID!! I'll start with the good. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. The bed was large, clean and comfortable. The shower had great water pressure and there was plenty of nice hot water. The heater in the room worked great. These are great things if you're just looking for a place to crash for the night. However, in the case of this particular hotel, it's NOT WORTH IT. The catwalk that goes around the upper rooms appears to be structurally unsound. There are chunks of cement falling from it, making it a hazard to anyone walking in and out of the rooms below and also to vehicles parked around the hotel. The room itself was terribly outdated and not in good condition. The electrical plugs were loose in the wall and the plugs to the TV were falling half out. The walls and carpets were filthy, and basically the whole room had not been updated since probably the late 1960s. The TV worked, but not so that you could watch anything. It got two channels, one with great picture and no sound and one with great sound and no picture. Again, if just looking for a place to shower and crash, many of these things could be overlooked, but the danger of falling cement chunks or a falling catwalk balcony is just not worth the risk, that is why I'm rating it STAY AWAY.

The hotel was close to my intended destination and the booking was really simple. The staff was very helpful and provided my husband and me with a map of directions when we asked for them.
They greeted us by name.
I am very likely
to return to the RED ROOF INN - LANSING EAST - UNIVERSITY.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.

There is not much around the location. The staff was very friendly and helpful; they accommodated us in every way we needed. The rooms were decent. The staff checked with us to see if we wanted cleaning even though we arrived in the very early hours

I have stayed at this inn numerous times while my daughter was at MSU. The employees have always been friendly and helpful. Now that she had graduated, I will miss staying there. If we ever have the opportunity to travel to Lansing again, we will de
