The hotel staff was very nice and helpful. The continental breakfast was very inadequate and it was the same thing two days in a row. The hotel beds were very uncomfortable. The hotel probably has not been renovated in quite some time. The pool had just been heated and opened and it was quite nice.
The gentleman that checked us in was very friendly. He arranged to have a roll away bed in our room at the last minute and we had it in our room before I got the kids out of the car. This gentleman also got us extra towels on two separate occasions.
I am not likely
to return to the Quality Inn Tigard.
I would not recommend it to friends.

The room WAS clean, looked like it had recently been remodeled, no scuffs or nicks on the new furniture, but the beds were ROCKS and the pillows even worse! Unfortunately we had to stay THREE nights there (Business trip--company's tab) but we didn't sleep but a couple hours each night due to the horrible beds.
And the shower head was about a foot shorter than me. Had to squat to rinse the shampoo out of my head. Even their soap was terrible --and they gave you NO amenities except a soap, a tiny one use shampoo and a one use hand lotion. Had to ask for more towels, an an extra pillow.
The night clerk was very unfriendly--we trudged up a very steep dangerous flight of stone steps only to be told "Front door's right there!" Very snotty.
When you come in from the back entrance, the only way in you see is the steps and there's no sign to tell you to go around the building. Hard dangerous climb.
there's NO way I'd stay there again. I'll insist the company finds newer accommodations. This place was reeking of the 1970's!

pathetic staff times two. we arrived at 11pm with the line 3 people deep, the wait time was 40 mins. to check in, accompanied by the front desk personnel asking me to answer the front door as the nightbell sounded incessantly, than he asked me to answer the night bell down the hall at the back door a few x. Then when we were 3 dollars short in cash he said he couldn't rent us the room until we paid it - since I'm not from PDX I wanted to pay in cash the next day instead of charging my VISA for 3 lousy dollars - I did at least 3.00 worth of work by answering the door every few mins. , very abrupt, incompetent, not able to look at the big picture personnel - the room was extremely filthy with dirty sheets. I slept on top of my jacket on the bed I was so tired.

After using a coupon from a travel magazine, the manager rewrote the rules after checkout. Children were now $10 extra and you could not apply the stay to the frequent flier program. The complimentary Continental breakfast was a joke consisting of bite size stale banana muffins and no juice. The coupon ended up costing us $5 more than the rack rate.

I disliked the unfriendly, unprofessional and insulting staff. I would not recommend this hotel at all. The rooms were not up to safety codes. The room was clean.

My expectation when staying at an inexpensive motel is simple. I'm not looking for frills, just a clean place to sleep. I checked into the Howard Johnson in Tigard, Oregon and was appalled. My room at first glance seemed ok. There were stains on the carpet which is typical, and not a big deal. Then I went into the bathroom. There were hairs in the tub and more hair in the bathroom sink. Also, the toilet didn't look clean. I immediately went down to the manager and said very politely that I would need to change rooms and told him what the problem was. He never even blinked when told of the problem. No apology, nothing. He proceeded to give me a new key and said "there you are". Now, I'm still in a pretty good mood and have hopes that the problem was solved. But no. The same problem was in room number 2! Hairs in the tub and bathroom sink. When the housekeeping can't even keep the tub and shower clean of noticable problems, I can only imagine what was happening in those room with things I couldn't immediately see.
I went back down to the manager and told him "this room is dirty also, I won't stay". Again, there was not one word of apology or any suggestion of his even being concerned. There were two women who walked up to the counter and overheard the conversation, and still no explaination or apology. Finally I told him that I was appalled that he had not been concerned in the slightest. One room dirty, you figure things can happen....two in a row? Totally unacceptable.
