We paid more than $135 a night for two adults and one child (high season). They had a dirty front entrance, and somewhat cleaner hallways. The room cleanliness was acceptable. There were burnt out light bulbs in room. Housekeeping tried to help, but to no avail. I had to request three times that a rollaway be brought to our room the first evening we were there (despite it being reserved and confirmed, resulting in our four-year old daughter having to stay up later than she wanted, and it’s not easy to have a tired four year old, far away from home). The rollaway bed provided should have been discarded years prior (though the sheets were clean).
One of the hotel's staffs' boyfriend spent most of the time parked in front entrance half-circle, where, I believe, was the only ramp access with his radio blasting, the young lady who may have been his girlfriend, was pleasant enough but did nothing. The breakfast food was terrible, and even our daughter, who will eat almost anything, complained.
Their woefully non-responsive desk staff, twice ignored us standing in front of them, as well as other customers. We left three days early on a six day reservation. Our bill was incorrect, we were charged twice to our credit card company, then it was corrected requiring us to get online to confirm that this was so, the front desk person was terse and thus not convincing that credit card had been credited. By letter, hotel management was unwilling to accept the feedback we wrote per a Choice Hotels (their parent company) survey that was sent to us by Choice Hotels as sufficient input to warrant a partial refund. We requested that 1/3 of our entire bill be refunded, we thought that was fair as it took us two days to make changes in our trip plans. Overall, they have terrible customer service and a disappointing experience, despite being in Durango on a regular basis, we don't want to get near this property again.
