32 year old female with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure

We're writing to tell you how very disappointed we are in your services. My husband and I got a room at the Quality Inn in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, on Saturday, June21st. I have stayed in this hotel a few times before, never having an issue of any kind. But that night was the most horrible experience we've had in any hotel we've ever stayed at. We were in town to visit friends, driving 4 hours from upstate New York. That night, we arrived back at the hotel only to find a very full, and trashed parking lot, and no place to park on the side that we were on. The parking lot was full of very loud "partiers" as well. After driving around to the other side of the hotel, we finally found a spot. When we got inside, loud, obnoxious music was playing and the place was filled with very crude party-goers.

We decided to try to stay the night. We went to our room (Room 207 on the top floor, mind you) and could still hear the pulsing rhythm of the music, and the yelling and screaming. At approximately 1:15, there was a vicious fight going on it the parking lot, screaming, cursing, and loud music. We called the front desk. No answer. It ended about 1:30 and we went back to sleep. At 2:15, about 50 people were at it in the parking lot again, booming bass systems, screaming, cursing, and fighting. We called the front desk a few more times – NO ANSWER. We were going to leave Stroudsburg and just head home in the middle of the night, but were too tired to even move.

In the morning, we told the front desk clerk what had happened. Understanding that a desk clerk is not authorized to give us a refund, she gave us a discount - $25.00 off of our room. She was helpful in giving us the manager's (Sean) name and phone number to call the next day (Monday June 23rd). After leaving and walking through the trashed parking lot, we came to my car, which I keep in perfect condition. My car somehow in the course of parking the night before, to the morning, now has scratches on it.

My husband called the manager Sean and left a voicemail on Monday. We did not hear back from him all week. Giving him the benefit of the doubt, thinking he may have been on vacation, tried two more times this week. No call back. I don't understand how, you can allow someone so unprofessional to run a hotel, and HOW you can allow what goes on in this hotel on weekends to happen. Do you know that two of your employees there actually said to us that the parties that go on there are ridiculous, and that they can't even believe you allow it? The waitress at Perkins across the street warned us about staying there, and said we were crazy? Do you really want that for your business? I have filled out a complaint form TWICE and still have not received an answer. This is not professional, and no way to conduct a business.

23 year old female with a moderate budget

After reading the reviews I was nervous about staying at this hotel, but was going for a wedding. It wasn't that bad. My room wasn't near the pool or club. When we came back from the wedding around 10:30 we walked by the club which had like 5 people in it. Whatever restaurant they had was closed for renovations and said Indian restaurant coming soon. It was really hot and muggy by the pool. We stayed on the 2nd floor but walking on the first floor, the hallways smelled like smoke. The place wasn't anything special, seemed old and outdated, but my room was clean and for one night it wasn't the nightmare I thought it would be after reading everyone's posts. I would try to request a room on the 2nd floor, then maybe the pool and nightclub won't bother you as much.

29 year old male with a moderate budget

We stayed for a wedding up the road, when we first arrived our front desk guy Faroz was great, pleasant, and helpful. We stopped by the restaurant on the way to our room, big mistake...after waiting 45 minutes for a buger and fries with NO ONE else in the place, it was also very hot, had a stale smell of cigarette, and the manager was very rude, better yet pompous. He spoke of his place in Texas that was so much better. That blew our mind, once we did finally hit our room it was filthy, old, and falling apart. After trying to watch our TV with a horrible picture and our attempt to control our room temp. which we couldn't do we decided to give the bar a shot. It just so happened to be the best part of our stay, there were two bartenders, Dwyane and Frank. They were friendly, personable, and knew how to control a crowd.

What sticks out most in my mind was the so-called manager at the front desk Sean, talk about unprofessional, with zero business sense. He was rude and spoke very little coherent English, worst part was he didn't work weekends, how does a General Manager of a Hotel not work on the only days your establishment does business?

We have always been pleased with the Clarion hotel. This was our fifth stay and we would not change it for others.

I am very likely to return to the Quality Inn Stroudsburg.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.

Service was awful. Stayed there for two days, they never cleaned the room, never made the bed or supplied fresh towels. Hotel is run down. The AC was broken for an entire day during one of the most humid days in August, though the AC appears to be very old anyway. After leaving the hotel, a few items were left there by accident. Called the front desk shortly after departure, they had the items and were mailing them to my home. Two weeks later, still had not received my items. They stated they were waiting to confirm my address, which is what I had done, when I called about the items in the first place. And, they now only had one item and the other two have mysteriously disappeared. Have been calling for weeks, and management will not return any of my calls, and I had to drive 1 1/2hrs to pick up the other item. Would not recommend nor ever stay here again.

I am not likely to return to the Quality Inn Stroudsburg.
I would not recommend it to friends.
