We love this place. It's nestled in Carmel Valley with sprawling hillside behind you and valley views around. The resort is luxurious and not just because it has a great golf course. The staff is well trained and they take good care of their guest from the moment you walk in the lobby.
The room we had was very apartment like but was very well appointed. It worked well for us as we were traveling with kids. Some friends, traveling without kids, actually had a stunning room but ours had more family friendly amenities.
We have stayed in the valley so many times that we really didn't use the concierge services but were surprised to get a proactive call asking if there was anything they could assist us with.
My only qualm is the cost for what we got. Deals can be had and for us to stay there again it will have to be a better bargain. Still, I'll seek this place out at a destination.

33 year old male with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure
I enjoyed a nice weekend escape here. This property has a variety of rooms, an upscale spa, and a nice-looking golf course (I need to come back to play it). The service was excellent, and the price, at $310 a night, was a good value compared with other options in the area.
We had a nice drink at the bar one afternoon, and just spent a little time at the pool which was nice. The spa looked great, but we didn't partake. We had breakfast down at the golf clubhouse (no breakfast or lunch is available at the main lodge) but wasn't impressed with the service (they got our order wrong) or the over-buttered food, and wouldn't recommend it
Our room was very large and included a high ceiling, gas fireplace, sitting area, two queen beds, large bathroom and two private decks one with a hot tub. The private hot tub was an extremely nice bonus that I didn't expect. The beds were very comfy and had lush down comforters and high thread count bedding. The TV was small, but we didn't even turn it on, so I didn't mind.
On the downside, the room didn't have a view at all, and the bathroom definitely need updating in terms of it's styling and fixtures. More concerning was the fact that our room connected to another room (via a two door system) and the folks in that other room were very loud and woke us up both nights around 11 pm. There was not much we could do about it, but the rooms should be better soundproofed. If you go, recommend a room without the pass-through doors, or make sure it's a quiet group staying next door.
Overall, it was a great weekend escape, a good value for a high-end property, and recommended for people who want to be near Carmel, but enjoy the golf and weather in Carmel Valley.
I am somewhat likely
to return to the Quail Lodge Resort Golf Club.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.

When we entered the grounds of Quail Lodge, I was pleasantly surprised by the beautiful landscape and quiet seclusion, which is not obvious from the road or entrance. The lodge is not new, but well maintained and the rooms were nicely renovated in the past two years.
They have a European feel, with wonderful linens, beautiful tile floors and nice amenities. We enjoyed the adjacent nine-hole putting course which was laid out along the lodge and in our favorite room we could see the Quail Valley Golf Course, which was lovely and friendly. We registered using a golf package promo and started our golf season early in the spring.
