Our room was very clean and comfortable; it had everything we needed plus more. The breakfast bar in the lobby was perfect. We had all we wanted whenever we were ready to get out of bed. The pool was fun with a nice crowd. The pool has a bar and very good menu with occasional barbecue specials. The security at the pool didn't appear to be around until people got out of hand. The staff was more than accomodating. They went out of their way to make us feel welcome and glad that we chose Put In Bay for our vacation. We especially appreciate and recommend a young man working the front desk clerk named William. He was very helpful when we made our reservations and a joy to meet. We will be back.

It's not worth the money. Five of my friends & I stayed in the suite for the weekend. It was clean but thats all it had. It was like staying in a hospital. Nothing special! The pool is the same way. Boring!!!

So we packed it up and stayed at the Islander Inn next door. The Islander Inn doesn't have suits but they do have ajoining rooms. They have so much going on. They have entertainment at the swim up pools & the nicest bartenders who serve the best tropical drinks.

We wouldn't stay at any other hotel on the island!

I wouldn't stay here ever again. I couldn't believe how rude most of the staff was. I went with eight other people, and no one in our group was treated nicely. We all had our own separate experiences with the staff, and they were all bad. One girl in our group was in the hot tub, and the "pool bouncer" came over to her, grabbed her beer from her, flung it behind him, and told her "you're outta here." Apparently, the pool was closing for the night, but she didn't do anything to provoke him, and received no prior warning to what time it was, or what time the pool closed. Yeah, there are pieces of paper hanging up in a couple of spots saying what time the pool closes, but she didn't take her watch in the hot tub with her, and there wasn't a clock anywhere.

For it being a Resort, and for us paying $325 a night for the Grand Luxury Suite, I would have thought that we were going to get what we paid for, nope. The light in the bathroom blew out, so I called the front desk, and they said they would send the guy up who did the repairs. I asked what time that would be, because we wanted to start getting ready. The guy at the front desk, in a real snotty voice, told me it would be in about eight minutes. So the repairman got there, and it was the "pool bouncer." He fixed our light, then left. I went into the living room, and turned on the light switch; the light blew out. Again, I called the front desk, they asked which light it was, and I told them the ceiling light in the living room. So "pool bouncer" comes back, and apparently brought the wrong light bulb. He looked at me and said, "Well you don't really need that light anyways." I was screaming at him inside my head, but kept it cool, and asked him to still replace the bulb.

Besides the lighting, there were some other things that didn't make us feel we were staying in a luxury suite at a resort. One of our rooms reeked of cigarette smoke. They did not provide us with luggage caddies. They got cheap with the shampoo, and only offered the 2-in-1 shampoo and conditioner. I know the shampoo probably isn't that big of a deal to guys, but for girls who have long hair, it doesn't quite work so well for them. The refrigerators were not plugged in. I know this isn't too abnormal for hotels, but let me reiterate the luxury suite at a resort. Those were the hardest mattresses I've ever slept on. We stayed Saturday night, I'm writing this review on Monday, and my back is still stiff. The ice machine on our floor didn't work. 4 of the soda vending machines didn't work, so we had to hunt to find one that did. In both bedrooms in each of the suites, the alarm clocks were all set to different incorrect times. They also did not have room service. Their phones did not have any list of emergency phone numbers, or how to dial out, or even how to dial the front desk. I had to guess to call about the light bulbs.

After our stay and reading some of the reviews written by other people that have stayed there, its amazing to me that "pool bouncer" still works there, and that we had similar experiences to other previous guests, like the rude staff and stiff mattresses.

When it was time to check out, I asked to speak to one of the managers to hopefully get some type of monetary compensation, because that's the only way they would have won me back. We were explaining to her what had happened, and she was taking it personally. She told my friend who was in the hot tub, that she should apologize to the hotel for being in there after it was closed because the hotel could have gotten in trouble.

They had a continental breakfast that wasn't offered on Saturdays, and they had a coupon on line to rent their golf carts for $5 off, but you couldn't use the coupon on Saturdays, either. The continental breakfast was extremely lacking in supplies. They had a cereal dispenser, but no milk anywhere. The toast tasted like someone had rubbed the bread on the floor of a bar covered with peanut shells. There wasn't a large supply or variety of bagels. After being very disappointed with their breakfast choices, or lack thereof, we left and got breakfast somewhere else.

I also had a heck of a time with booking, and the person making the reservation for me giving me false information. I think I've gotten my point across with the other details of our trip, and won't go into it anymore.

Please save yourself from maybe going through what I and other writers of their reviews have gone through with this place. I hope if someone reads this review after they stay there, that they have a much better experience than what we had. Overall, the trip actually was a lot of fun, when we weren't at the hotel.

The kind of place most appropriate for drunk college revelers who don't care too much about cleanliness or good, friendly service and just need a place to crash.

The carpets in this hotel are so dirty that they left the bottoms of my feet black. I came here with my wife in the hopes of a romantic getaway, and my wife was so grossed out that we checked out after two days for another hotel.

A great place and a beautiful pool! privatepartycr – Posted Apr 06, 07

What a welcome change from many hotels on the island!

We have stayed at various hotels on the island for 7 years and this new resort hotel is the best we have experienced by far. The new rooms, the included breakfast, friendly staff, a short walk to the main strip and they made us feel at home. We have found a new home!

Kudos to the staff! sweetkelly4fun – Posted Feb 14, 07

The location was great, we have been coming to Put-in-Bay for years and this new resort was by far the best location and price to value we have seen on the island. The pool with swim up bar was crystal clear and clean. The food at the restaurant was way above what we would have expected t any hotel with smoked ribs and brisket.

The rooms had everything we would have hoped for including a safe for our laptop. The staff was friendly and answered every question we had. We have stayed at a few other hotels on the island and they are old and some would not even let you buy beer and have it in your room in an attempt to get you to buy their beer! Our room even had a fridge in the room.

The Continental breakfast was nice and also had hot items on it which we really liked. When we checked out we booked our room for the next year.

I highly recommend!

I stayed at the Islander Inn in Ohio. The room was very clean and spacious. The pool and the entertainment were even better than expected, the group was so impressed with the hotel, that we are planning this as an annual trip, rather than one time trip.

This hotel made me feel excited: I felt excited by the number of people there to have fun.

I am very likely to return to the Put-in-Bay Resort and Conference Center.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.
