Apparently, "Renovated" means new beds and linens. I understand and appreciate that this is a historic property - but I was "sold" on this hotel with the guarantee that the rooms were larger than other hotels in RI and that the hotel has undergone recent renovations. Here's a rundown of my experience so far: -my room is less than 150 sq. ft - and the only renovation is the fabric on the windows and bed -no heat in my room or meeting room -bathroom tub doesn't drain -conceriege gives bad directions (I was sent 5 blocks in the wrong direction) -did I mention IT IS RAINING IN THE MEETING ROOM -moldy food is put out for my guests not to mention the extreme lack of communcation/confirmation with staff -across the board - in preparation up to the meeting.
Best yet - on the 4th day of my stay I witnessed a car accident caused by two of the doormen/valet. One doorman - driving a guests car very fast toward the entrance of the building, collided into the open door of another guest's vehicle under the eye of another hotel employee. Imagine my surprise when the one guy yells at the other (after hitting the door - ruining it so it can not be closed, and denting the other car as well), didn't you hear me honk. As if honking suddenly makes it acceptible to drive someone else's car far too fast down a narrow drop off area.
FYI-doormen here do not open the doors for you, apparently, they are too busy crashing cars.
Please stay at the Courtyard - or the Westin - or somewhere else as long as it is not the Biltmore
