This hotel has a great ocean location, very comfortable suites and good service. If one can upgrade to their condo suite, it would be very good!
This hotel had upgraded our room. When we saw the upgraded room, we were so surprised! It had such a great ocean view from so many windows, we could not help but feel so relaxed!
I am very likely
to return to the Princess Bayside Beach Hotel and Golf Center.
I might recommend it to friends.

We decided to take our oldest son & his girlfriend to OC for the weekend for her 21st birthday. Advance reservations were made by phone for a specific weekend in November for two rooms. When we arrived, we were told that our reservations were for the prior weekend and that in order to get rooms for this particular weekend, we would have to pay again. Not to mention the amount charged to our credit card was $169/night x 2 rooms. Now this being in mid-November, looking online the prices were $78-99/night. What's the difference between last weekend and this weekend?
When I requested to speak to the General Manager, we were told that there were none on duty!!!
What kind of hotel doesn't have a GM on duty?
Rude front desk personel, very unprofessional, not customer oriented at all. We got the feeling that the staff did not care about our business at all.
I will never return to them and needless to say, I am disputing the credit card charge where they charged us the wrong dates, and we had to find another hotel!!!

Just a few words can sum up my experience at this hotel:
Staff was not friendly, rooms could have been a lot cleaner. The bed sheets had a few stray hairs in them. I am thinking they were not changed after the last guest.
This staff needs training in customer service.
Don't bother to call the front desk for extra towels, they won't bring you any.

I booked this hotel late for a holiday weekend. The website indicates that this is a resort hotel and the pictures and overall reviews were good. Overall, the room was clean and decent.
It seems that they are more concerned about their summer guests than in winter. The only heating vent is near the ceiling and sounded like a jet each time it turned on. The tile floor in the entry way and bathroom area was extremely cold, we had to put towels on the floor to protect our feet.
The pool was so-so and was foaming in the morning when my husband went to check it out. We opted not to swim.
The bayside balcony view offered a littered small beach area with last summer's palm tree stumps still in place.
In the morning of the day of check out, the shower in the room above us began leaking into our shower. After unplugging the credit card machine that must be used to order premium channels (how many resort hotels don't offer free premium channels anymore?), and plugging in the phone jack, I contacted the front desk and was told that someone from maintenance would be there shortly. No one showed up.
When putting the bed back into place after making the phone call, I found a bed bug! Yuck! Im not even sure what to say about that! I have seen and heard some TV expose' about them, and would think that hotels would now be more diligent.
We left the room shortly after and immediately the hotel desk clerk asked if the maintenance people had been there, we indicated they had not and they apologized for that, indicating that they probably went directly to the room in question and that the occupants had been informed of the need to fully close the shower curtain to prevent leaks.
We then indicated that we'd had an unwelcome guest in our room and the proof was provided to them in a plastic baggie. Again they apologized, offered us a free breakfast, but no other restitution in terms of the fees. We declined on the breakfast and were informed that we would be hearing from the general manager that day. As of now two days later we still have not heard from them.
We have decided that OC is not the best place to visit in the winter.

We booked for three nights and ran away the first morning. The paper thin walls let through childrens screaming and crying, the neighbors bashing each other over errant drug usage, and a domestic argument determined to get resolved in the hallway. It was a psycho ward the only night we stayed. The balcony had a great view of a construction site 15 feet away, so there was no need for wake up call when the tattooed workmen began their day in our faces.
