42 year old female with a luxury budget, traveling for leisure
My husband, his uncle and my son planned a trip to Gettysburg. His uncle backed out days before the trip. I called to change the reservation from a Friday and Saturday night to a Sunday and Monday so it would be more affordable. The woman I spoke with told me that it was "all set". Weeks later my American Express is charged for a "no show" on the original date. I called to explain that I had been charged and that the original reservation was supposed to have been cancelled. She tells me that I had to call AAA to cancel the original reservation. She never said that to me originally. She told me that I was "all set". I followed up with a complaint to their customer service center. I called and explained my situation at length several times. No one ever got back to me. I faxed over all of my documents, including a copy of the phone bill with a long distance call to the hotel on the day the reservation was changed. No one ever got back to me. I called finally, quite upset and asked to speak to a supervisor. She finally got back to me several days later and left a message on my answering machine saying that there was nothing that they could do. Horrible experience. Awful company. Terrible customer service. Never stay at a Super 8.
We liked the room and the people working there were very friendly. At the high season, the rates are what I consider high. Off-season, it is reasonable for what you get.
