My husband and I stayed at the plantation this past weekend and were really surprised and amazed at the value we received for our money. The plantation is layed out in an apartment-like fashion, with separate buildings scattered around the acreage. While I would highly recommend this hotel to friends and family members alike, we did experience several small problems with our stay. First of all, I had reserved what I thought would be a room with a hot tub in it, but upon check in was told no rooms with hot tubs were available. Also, when we got to our room, there were many stains on the carpet in the dining room area, and many of the light-bulbs were out. The staff was there quickly to replace the bulbs the next day, but I wondered why this was not taken care of before we checked in, as it was very easy to see upon first glance. Also, my husband accidentally left several expensive shirts in the closet in our room, but three days later, the hotel still has not found them, and I have called several times to check. But overall, the place is gorgeous, peaceful, safe, and well-maintained. The ammenities, such as putt-putt golf, indoor pool and hot tubs, on-site restaurant, gorgeous playground area for the little ones, and fitness center make this a retreat that will satisfy the whole family.

It was a beautiful location. It had large rooms with a fireplace and a hot tub, close to college, close to shopping and historic districts and it was very family friendly.

This hotel made me feel welcome: The walking trails, the waterfalls, the animals of the region, the clean spacious rooms and the timely cleaning of rooms made me feel relaxed.

It was comfortable and in a good location. I would recommend it, it is good value.

We stayed at the Powhatan Plantation facility just outside of Williamsburg. Considering the resort was in a state of major renovation, the stay was surprisingly pleasant. It is both a timeshare and it has vacancies for the public through travel agencies.

This hotel made me feel comfortable: They broke their policy to let me make last minute reservations on a Friday afternoon. I am a timeshare member and I was supposed to book the reservation earlier.

It had a hot tub in the room but the lights in the kitchen did not work.
