The suite was clean and comfortable. We did not have transportation readily available and there was not much close by as far as shopping or much variety in restaurants.

I have been going to the Pointe for over 20 years ... first as the child, then as the parent! Yes, it is showing it's age, and yes, it can be crowded - but it just feels comfortable.

We love the casitas, and the room they offer for a family. We love the smaller pools (and tend to avoid the River Ranch, except perhaps, for one day of a weeklong stay).

We typically travel there during the summer months, so the pools are so warm that you can stay in them all day.

We have never had issues with cleanliness or service or quality. We have experienced problems with partying neighbors, since this place caters to many local residents during the summer months, and the relative isolation of the casitas makes a good location for prom attendees, graduation parties and bachelor/bachelorette gatherings. Security can be slow to respond ... and the previous manager was aware of the issue and did his best to address it; the new manager seems to be a bit behind the power curve.

I would not hesitate for a moment to recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a resort style property.

The location is very central to the Phoenix area and the Squaw Peak area has great views. I have stayed at multiple hotels in the Phoenix area and this is the only hotel that I would stay at again and again. The services are as expected for the rates paid, but the overall location and comfort of this hotel are what makes it a top pick for me.

This is an ideal location for easy access to outdoor activities like hiking, but still in the center of the city. The hotel is laid out well and it gives one a sense of having enough space. The service is excellent. If keeping in touch via internet is important, the hotel offers reliable in room connectivity without additional charge.

The location is beautiful. The staff was courteous and polite. There was a small error on the bill which the staff quickly corrected. The workout room was not as nice as I would have expected from the rest of the hotel. The food was good and the swimming pools were beautiful. The bed was comfortable and I liked that they provided bathrobes for use during the stay.

This hotel made me feel relaxed: The swimming pool and the hot tub were in a serene surrounding. The room was quiet and the bed was very comfortable. The shower was good, too.

The large pool area was well maintained and nice, but the pool was a little oily. I liked having the jacuzzi next to the pool for kids. I loved the lazy river and the water slides. The carpets in the room could have used a cleaning. The food at the hotel restaurant was decent not great.

The hotel is centrally located although you really need to rent a car as there is no complimentary shuttle service to anything, not even the airport. There is no heat in the rooms if the weather is cold, but the room stays comfortable. All in all, I had an excellent stay.

It is an excellent hotel, I would recommend it to anyone. They have excellent service and staff and the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in.

I liked the personal service given by this hotel. I live locally and I enjoy staying at the hotel when off peak rates are standard. I am also a Hilton Honors member and I am upgraded at the hotel.

This hotel made me feel comfortable: I like the amenities at the hotel, the room service and the pillow top mattresses.

I enjoyed the location and the view. The private haciendas were very nice.

We stayed in one of the property's casitas twice in the last month, so this is a review of that particular type of room.

The casitas are large and have a private carport and private entry. They have lots of room and would be great for families. The downstairs had a dining table, 2 sofas, TV., wet bar and small refrigerator with 1/2 bath. Upstairs is the main bedroom with full bath and bed. The decor in the casitas was a bit run down, with really old burgundy carpet, very outdated bathroom fixtures, and furniture in desperate need of reupholstering. I think with some simple remodeling updates, this could be a first-rate property.

One of our casitas had a nice large balcony off the main bedroom, while the other had a huge sundeck right off the second floor. The sundeck had a full sized table with four chairs and an umbrella and two lounge chairs! It’s awesome for soaking in the Arizona sun. One casita overlooked a "private" pool, which was so much fun to step right outside and hit the water.

This is a super resort for kids! The main swimming pool area is amazing. The Hole-in-the-Wall River Ranch has a huge lazy river, waterfalls, mini golf, a Western themed town and a gorgeous outdoor patio with a fire pit and Smore’s at night. If you have kids, this is a super place to stay. We don't have kids and we had a blast.

Liked: The large casitas and the amazing pool area with Western town theme.

Disliked: In dire need of updating and remodeling.

It's an excellent place to stay. They have very good pools and lots of family activities.

The location was convenient to the interstate but shielded by mountains. It was good for a family vacation. There was an enjoyable variety of restaurants on property.

This hotel made me feel hip: The restaurant and bar had a great band along with different drinks that I have not tried before. They also offered very exotic foods such as, rattlesnake.

It was too difficult to locate the room after dark. The room number was hidden by foliage.
