Plantation Motel - Page 1

The Plantation was definitely not what I was expecting for our family vacation. It's true, what they say about it being perfect for fishermen looking for a convenient place to stay, but if you like clean rooms and any amenities whatsoever, I'd recommend anywhere else. Not only was the cleanliness lacking, but also the motel needs to be updated, repaired and repainted. They say they have a fire pit, but it's actually a tire rim with a pile of old, demolished lumber (2x4s and such) about 30 yards away. The one and only picnic table was old and rotten. If you like trains, you'll be happy, as we heard freight trains and their melodic horns about twice an hour. And I didn't see any eagles, though I don't doubt they are in the area. The room and houses we rented were tiny, musty, and did not truly accomodate the number of people they indicated, other than for sleeping. Even for the price, I would stay elsewhere.
