I have never had to pay so much money for a room like this. Upon arrival, we found out that our door did not lock or even shut tight. In the bathroom, a bar or soap that was on top of the washcloth was chewed by a mouse and there were little mouse droppings on the washcloth. The bathroom had cobwebs and spiders all over, and the tub was dirty. The air conditioning hardly worked at all.

I would not recommend this to anyone! My niece had her reception there, and that’s the only reason that I stayed at all. I would have left immediately with those conditions. The outside is beautiful, but the grounds and the outside of the buildings need tons of work. It does not look like they put much of the money they make back into the place at all. Too bad because is it such a beautiful setting.

The food at the reception was awful also. The TVs were also in very poor condition and very blurry. When you have children that stay there also, you should have good TVs. And what is it with no remotes? Get with the times. The bartender at the reception was totally miserable.

I was very disappointed. As a child, this was one of the upscale resorts in the area. Sadly, time has taken its toll. The grounds remain beautifully landscaped, but the rooms are in need of repair and thorough cleaning (musty smell, dirty carpeting, etc). The hot tub was closed for repair, the pool was not heated, the maid service consisted of us calling for fresh towels and trash pick up. Their website is very misleading - consider other options before reserving here.
