My sister and I made a trip to Old Forge during early June and stayed at Pine Knoll Cabins. From the beginning, when I made the reservation, to the end of our stay, the family who owns and runs the hotel/cabins were friendly, courteous, and helpful. Our cabin was clean, cozy, and comfortable, the view of the lake was captivating, and our overall experience was wonderful. The weather was unseasonable cool, and the owners were kind enough to give us wood to burn in the fireplace, which enriched our feeling of comfort even more.
Its location is ideal: On the lake and away from the busy center of town, yet within an easy walking distance of the Main Street of Old Forge, and so we were able to shop the stores and eat at local restaurants without having to drive, unless we chose to.
We made this trip to relax and get away from the rat-race of larger cities and to catch up on the good ol' days, and I highly recommend Pine Knoll Cabins as the perfect place to be able to do this.
