We stayed in this resort for 3 nights and those were the most awful time that we had anywhere in this world. Here are our experiences
We were three and needed another bed in our suite. The hotel had promised us to give one. When we reached our suite in the night, we found that the extra bed was broken. We called the reception at around 10 PM but the answer we got was to adjust somehow since the hotel had no extra bed and all that we got was a mattress that was placed on the floor. The hotel promised to place a bed the next day.
Next day, we went out of the hotel with a PLEASE CLEAN MY ROOM tag on the door. We came from the sight-seeing trip after midnight at 1:00 AM, thinking that our room will be clean and with a bed, only to find that the tag was changed to DO NOT DISTURB. This was amazing as the hotel knew that we had gone for the tour that was arranged by the hotel itself. The room was in the same state without extra bed.
On complaining to the general manager of the hotel, Mr. Mario Nazareth, we were assured the next day that we would be given another room. We were hushed into changing the room and we left soon after that in the afternoon. When we came back at 1 AM, we found that the air conditioner was not working. It was quite obvious that the incorrigible hotel-staff did not even take the pains to check whether everything was okay in the room or not. At 2:00 AM in the morning, after a series of visits by the house-keeping and numerous calls to the reception, we came to know that the AC could not be repaired. At that obscenely late hour, the hotel staff gave an option to change the room again. We were so sleepy, tired, exhausted and hopelessly frustrated that we decided that well stay in the room itself without AC.
Following is an insight into the shabby world of the restaurant named Geofferys:
- We found cockroaches roaming near the buffet area. On informing the manager Mr. Sebastian (a.k.a. Max), he just shrugged off as if they were part of the menu. He just smiled and turned his back and did not even care to remove the roaches.
- This place used used-Bisleri-bottles (which not even roadside shacks use nowadays and which is really unhygienic) to serve water.
- Food was not upto the 3-star standard.
In a nutshell, this place is not a place a person should go for a holiday or relaxing. It is really surprising that this hotel has a 3-star rating. Rather than relaxing and chilling out, we were quarreling with the staff all the time. We recommend that this place is really avoidable if someone wants to spend a carefree, peaceful and memorable holiday in a place like Goa.
