My husband and I stayed two nights at the Percheron Paradise located near LaCrosse, Wisconsin. We stayed in the Chalet #3, which is the game chalet. The game chalet has a pool table, dartboard and foosball table in it. This place is WONDERFUL! The owners, Karl and Tracy are two of the nicest people you can meet and they have thought of everything when it comes down to making this place a romantic getaway. The chalets are extremely private and come with all the "extras". From the bottle of sparking cider waiting for us, to the wine glasses we were told to keep, the plush bathrobes for our use and the large whirlpool tub. The decor is beautiful and the chalet was spotless. This place will always be remembered by us for years to come. It was extremely quiet as it is set in the middle of the woods...very private. If you and your loved one are looking to spend quality time together... Percheron Paradise is the only place to be... Every single ammenity one could imagine... no noisy neighbors as the 4 handcrafted chalets are isolated from each other in the bluffs. Peace and tranquilty await... whirlpool tubs, queen size beds, fireplaces and views of the sunset and sunrise you cannot imagine! We have been to three of the four chalets and are planning our fourth visit this summer. Karl and Tracy are wonderful, kind and humorous people who understand the meaning of a man and a woman. Breathtaking experience. If every couple experienced the rest, relaxation and renewing your find in the wilderness, the world would be a better place.

When you arrive, you think where is it? And then you see an office sign. The owners greet you and give you a map to get you there (some chalets come with a 4 wheel drive jeep) You drive up a hill with trees, as if you were in a tunnel going to your unit.

Walking into the building we were unable to set down the luggage, the windows were everywhere including at the foot of the whirlpool. The room had a remote control fire place, full cooking, a large walk in shower with two controls and shower heads, the decks had gas grills. Yet from every window or the deck, we could not even see other buildings or people. All the pictures on their site are from the bungalow and chalets, but they do not really show how the locations give privacy. The pool table and foosball are actually in one of the chalets. We had a tour. The area is loaded with things like bike trails, canoeing, Mississippi cruises, horseback riding, Amish shops, hiking and a ton more. However, we never made it out as we savored the place where we were. We want to stay in each unit, in each season.
