A horrible stay

60 year old female with a economy budget, traveling for leisure
We were traveling from Utah to Massachusetts, and came upon this motel. It was advertised as $40.00 a night double occupancy. Just after entering room, the toilet overflowed. The manager tried to snake the toilet and then left the snake, the bucket and the overflow mess all over floor. And he refused to clean it up. They would not give me another room, they just expected us to stay in the filth. We contacted the police when the manager refused to not charge our credit card because we refused to spend the night in such a disgusting mess. The officer said it was a civil matter, but the manager has been known to overcharge and not take care of the rooms. He is trying to charge us $86.00 and we never stayed. We’re contacting the BBB & the Attorney General of MO. Traveler beware!
I am not likely
to return to the People's Choice Motel.
I
would not recommend it to friends.
