I have been going to Pearl River to gamble for years. I just returned 7/4/08 from a trip there. Each time I go I carry a new person who signs up to become a member. I was totally embarrassed by the treatment I received I have bragged to everyone who enjoys gambling to encourage them to go but this time I was totally embarrassed by the treatment the staff gave us, the food was horrible and there are no waitresses on the floor so I had to go to the bar to order a drink. Usually they offer free drinks if you are playing but this time (even though I received free drinks the lady bartender was a total jerk.) She told us that we could only get a drink every 20 minutes. Never has this happened. I don"t plan to return there for a while even though we have reservations next week we will be canceling. Our plan is to go a little further south in MS or go to Vicksburg. This is sad because I really have enjoyed Pear River. There had to be a lot of changes because this trip was a nightmare.

People - Pleasant, Friendly, Not well trained to be service oriented
Food - Tried 4 restaurants:
The Villa - good service, low cost, low quality food.
The Rib Joint - good service, good food, reasonable prices.
The Galaxy - poor service, poor food, overpriced.
The Steakhouse - poor service, overpriced, low quality food.
Rooms (Non-smoking rooms)
First night - Room was smoky, thought maybe someone had smoked in it recently. Next morning had housekeeping spray and deodorize room.
Second Night - Smoked had seeped into room and thus deodorizing was to no avail. Room was extremely noisy from Casino (4th floor with window overlooking casino) Moved in middle of night to higher floor.
Third night - lightly smoky, quiet, slept okay
Casino - slots and tables have mostly low limits, this casino has the most penny and nickel slots I have ever seen in one place, low income gamblers (enough to want to make you stop paying taxes)
This hotel is a smokers delight.
Staff is pleasant but not service oriented.
Casino attracts a low income crowd, thus the lack of need for service.
There is no need to supply high quality food or service to the crowd that patronizes this casino.
If one is looking for a higher quality casino stay in Mississippi, they should try the Gulf Coast.

We drive from Birmingham to play usually once a month. Now that our kids are gone we like to do things that we enjoy, which usually includes a trip to Pearl River. I know a lot of things are changing there, but I don't really have an opinion. I am just concerned because we usually hear what is going on at the casino in terms of promos. We are good gamblers I thought...we haven't gotten the first letter, seen or heard the first commercial or even been acknowledged.
We understand things change....sometimes they need to. It is important to remember your customers in Alabama to though! I know there are a lot of us in there, or atleast there used to be.

The place is nice! We are first timers from Oklahoma. This was our first experience on an "indian" reservation so we were quite surprised to find it so lavish!
We were able to go to the waterpark! I am surprised at what this place has to offer. We were introduced to the director of the park, Shelia. What a healthy girl!
We will be back. This place seems to be a good stop on the way to the coast. While we prefer the coast, this place is a nice rest stop.
I hate the rudeness of the cocktail waitresses. I had heard Pearl River Resorts was bringing in some young Asian girls in. I wished they had been there instead of the the rude wench who served us. My cousin and me was playing the nickel slots. so you know we was betting money. Why that lady didn't come around more than twice in two hours was beyond me. When I asked the bartender what the problem was I told her I was gonna take it up with the chief. She told me his name was Meko and that he wasn't taking no calls. I said well fine then, where he stay at cause I am going over there. Y'all need to get your act together.

We went to the Silver Star and noticed that we got a free spin if we had 750 points on our cards. When we inquired about it, they told us we had to have earned 750 points that day! Well the sign certainly did not say that.

Silver Star used to be a good place to win. I have had better luck at Greene Track lately. I loved that italian place, toscano's....they have gotten rid of it.,

We came often. Ever since this new chief we have been very displeased with the service at both casinos. The staff are disinterested and there is a very racists anti-white sentiment. With so many drunk Indians day and night, it is hard to have a good time. Bring back the old management...until then we will be going to Tunica
