Excellent
We have never stayed at the Peabody before and really enjoyed our stay. It has top of the line service and helpful people all around. We will certainly stay there again if we can afford it since...

The lobby is charming and it stops there, we stayed in Room 522 on May 3, 2008 and I killed 3 cockroaches in our bathroom between 9;00 p.m. and 6:00 am on Sunday, called the front desk, we get this is the south mame, there are bugs, we'll send someone up, a guy comes, with raid in a can, and sprays the whole bathroom including the towels, so we request a room change, 2 floors up and all the way across the hotel, ok, this room bathroom hairdryer doesn't work, and the plug is broken. This was a present to my mom and it turned out to be horrible. They took 80.00 off that is it, Don't stay here!

The hotel is over one hundred years old and it has great historic quality and character. My room was much nicer than I expected for such an old hotel, although the walls were quite thin and I could hear the conversations of my neighbors. The staff was ext
The bell hop and the front desk staff were overly friendly and helpful. They offered to help with directions and my bags without even asking.
I am not likely
to return to the Peabody Memphis.
I would not recommend it to friends.

No signage as to how to find the lobby or desk. Labrynthine entrances. Parking a long walk unless you take the valet scam. Rooms at least orderly except for peeling wall paper in the bath room (858). Lobby a circus. Few places to sit and conversation almost impossible except early morning. Restaurants tend toward low rent Italian pasta and over priced filets. The charm of the "Premier" Hotel of the old South descended into tattiness. No coffee pots in rooms. Extra charges for all facilities. A scam without the charm that the hotel once had.

The entry is grand. This hotel is quite beautiful and has southern charm, but the bathrooms are very small, nice but tiny. The beds were really comfortable. There was a lot of street noise from our room, motorcycles, loud cars, etc. There was a $10 service charge that they don't tell you about up front. The Jacuzzi and pool were nice. The ducks were lovely and their entrance onto the red carpet was cute. The price is a bit steep for the standard double size rooms. We are a family of 4 (2 small children) and we were running all over each other. It would have been a great room for 1 or a newlywed couple.
I am somewhat likely
to return to the Peabody Memphis.
I might recommend it to friends.

The standard for service, rooms, and everything else expected from a hotel stay are set here. A night here will make you feel first-class all the way. It's an amazing experience that every traveler should be lucky to have.
