75 year old female with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure
The hotel was conveniently located and I was very satisfied with the hotel amenities and service.
This hotel made me feel welcome: The staff was immediately attentive. They offered resources to confirm air reservations via computer. The staff was expert in giving directions and suggestions.

Room quality not as advertised

I reserved a room by direct telephone to their reservationist early in September for 3 nights over a weekend in mid October. I wanted a specious guest room as advertised on their website. I was quoted a price for a standard room but opted to upgrade to a Superior King. When we got there late Friday night from our flight from the West Coast I was told
that we would be given a “corner room,” and my reservation for a superior room was meaningless. Their policy for room accommodations was “first come, first served.” Our corner room was small and beat up looking. The wallpaper was peeling and the bathroom door wouldn’t shut completely. It reeked of smoke but a nonsmoking sign had been placed in the room. On the upside, the location was good and it was quite.

Take note of the many reviews about poor housekeeping. ( We had no housekeeping.) Management and staff could care less. We were put in a smoking room when we requested a no smoking room. We also requested adjoining rooms and instead got 2 rooms 4 floors apart. The worst part was when I had to go in the hall and track down toilet paper and clean towels!

Pretty good hotel in the middle of Manha. This moderatley priced hotel has very good location. Walking distance to Central Park and just 2 blocks from Russian Vodka Room. I would highly recommend this hotel for reasons listed above. Room was OK. Staff had to be reminded about roll-away bed. Very busy hotel (maybe there was some convention in the city).

It’s a fabulous location. It had a comfortable room but the front desk guy was really brusque and inhospitable.
This hotel made me feel comfortable: The housecleaning staff did a great job at cleaning our room each day. They also honored our request for more comforters and blankets.

This hotel was a nightmare from the start. Upon arrival (late, 1 AM), I was faced with a line of 7 people and no one at the front desk. After 20 minutes, a front desk clerk appeared. But no rooms were available. We were told - after another 20 minute wait - that rooms were being cleaned but only 2 maids were on duty so it would take another 20 minutes. Finally, at 3 AM, after a total of 9 parties were waiting for their rooms, I actually received a key. Photos cannot even do the nightmare proper justice. Upon entering the room, two overflowing trash cans were in the entryway. A trash bag and other random stuff were left on the bathroom counter. The shower curtain was hanging off the rod and one of the screens covering the windows inside the shower was also broken and hanging askew. Every electrical outlet in the room was loose and seriously dangerous - I got a small shock attempting to plug in my cell phone charger. The walls are cracked, the ceiling paint is literally peeling and leaving chips on the floor and bed, and the lampshades are stained and off-kilter. There is mold growing on the bathroom windows. The doorframe to the bathroom is broken and the metal connector piece is sticking out of the door. One of the lights is burned out. The bedsheets looked as though they'd been pulled out from under the bed and slapped on, and they did not appear to be freshly laundered by look or smell. Many stains on the bedsheets, top sheet, pillows and comforter. I am so disgusted by this hotel. I will never, never stay here again, and I would warn others to stay away as well.

Mediocre rooms and poor service

Despite the great location, the rooms were not worth the $300/night price tag. A higher level of service might have helped. I've been better cared for at a Motel 6. Rooms were not well maintained, staff were not friendly or helpful, and late checkout and baggage holding policies were inconvenient and punitive.

I had a very nice room, much larger than most New York City hotel rooms. I liked the big comfortable bed and the large flat screen TV.
This hotel made me feel comfortable: I liked the clean room and bathroom.

I had stayed at the hotel in the past and the rooms were very nice and modern. The room I got this time was old and dingy.

Great location, very close to the Central Park and a 10-min walk from Times Square. Only problem was that they only accept check-in after 4pm, and there was a huge line for check-in at 4pm. Room was much larger than I expected.
