I love that the hotel is near the trolley, and within walking distance of Macy's and Union Square. But I dislike that it is also within the tenderloin district - with panhandlers, dirty surroundings and smells. Valet parking is at your own risk, pricey but convenient if using your car in/out; if just for storage park at the nearby public parking garage - the valet staff is independent from the hotel. Staff service is not consistent; if not busy, excellent personal service, if full/busy, you're just another number. It's not recommended for family trips; this hotel caters for the 'business trip.' Some of front desk staff are very rude, especially the youngest manager on duty. These specific front desk agents and manager should be retrained in customer service or shouldn't work in the customer service field at all.

It's next to the BART station for easy access to all airports. It's right in the middle of city. It has beautiful rooms and amenities.

This hotel made me feel practical: With its central location in the city, everything was easy to get to. There was no need to drive anywhere with the central subway and public transportation. It was a great cost for location and ease.
