I have stayed at the Paramount hotel for years, but never again. This hotel just keeps going downhill. I believe that it used to be part of the Ian Schrager group of hotels. I think it was sold several times.
I am in the hotel right now. The wireless went down and I had to send out a proposal. The night manager, Cynthia R, couldn't care less. When I told her it as already after midnight. All she said was for me to go "find a cyber cafe!" She offered no assistance, was incredibly rude and rolled her eyes at me. The only saving grace was a kind young woman, Karen, who came to my assistance and found me a 24 hour Starbucks.
Besides that, the rooms have lost there charm--there are stains on the sheets, the air conditioner/heater rattles all night and the door staff stands inside all day/night talking to each other rather than helping with bags or helping to hail taxis.
Honestly, this is worse cheap motel. It should be downgraded to a one/two star accommodation.
