44 year old woman with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure

We gave them our credit card number to secure room. We have been billed 2 times on that credit card from the hotel with no explanation. When we called about the first 50.00 charged, they said it would be taken care of within 3 days. A month later, it still hasn't. Then I just got my bank statement, and another 202.00 plus a 2.00 charge has been billed to my credit card, and no one can help me until Monday since the only 2 woman that handle this works until 4 p.m. Monday - Friday. The room was really nice, the people where great, but be very careful with your debit or credit cards. You need to make sure you check it out before they start charging it for no apparent reason.

17 year old woman with a economy budget, traveling for leisure

I took my fiancée to this hotel first because it was in Bellevue and second because, honestly, it was the cheapest.

While reading the reviews others had left, I was a little iffy on following through with our weekend, but told myself it was the cheapest hotel and I think it would be worth it.

I got there ahead of time to check in and decorate the room, and to tell you the truth the outside of the hotel certainly does no good for their rep. It didn't look like a hotel at all, but a motel of the side of the highway.

But when I went inside the lobby to check-in, I was very surprised to find a totally different setting. The inside was nice and elegant and the staff was nice. Once I got my key to my room, I was shocked again to see a beautiful chandelier as we were walking in. Our room was facing the garden, and it was beautiful. You couldn't hear the freeway traffic at all, but simply heard a beautiful waterfall (we kept our door open to hear it). The bed (ours was a King) was huge, not the most comfortable but the linens were warm. The room itself was basic and comforting. They included two complimentary robes and soaps of course.

Our only problem was the door, it seemed it was crusted over and the deadbolt wouldn't lock. Also we had a problem (only once) with one of our keys not working. Also, the "free" breakfast turned out to be a card of $10 value then again everything in their restaurant was under $10. You only had to cover maybe a tip and sales tax. It was within walking distance to Bellevue Square, and that is what we did, we walked. I would definitely come back to this hotel again.

Stay Away
member icon The room was dirty

This hotel not only had dirty rooms, but they charged $40+ to my credit card, even though I had booked through Priceline. I've called the hotel three times to work this through and each time they've apologized and politely told me it would be reimbursed to my card. One month later, it's still not reimbursed.

Stay at the Silver Cloud instead! It's about the same money and much newer and nicer! This place is old, the photos are of the lobby and in one of their remodeled/upgraded rooms. The plumbing is old and loud, the tub didn't drain until long after my shower was over and the toilet took several flushes to flush. There were tears in the sheets and the vending machines didn't work. At check-in the front desk gave us coupons for breakfast in the hotel restaurant but never could get waited on. We did have a rude employee snap at us, "What'd you expect when using a coupon!" If you do stay here insist on the Travel Guide rate and a remodeled room!

I am not likely to return to the Paragon Hotel.
I would not recommend it to friends.

Poor

35 year old man with a economy budget, traveling for business

This was the first time I booked into a 2 star on business, and I used Priceline.

The hotel itself:

The room was not clean, the TV screen was actually filthy

The bathroom floor was loose

There were stains on the carpet next to the bed

Room service:

My towel on the floor was returned to the rack twice

The washrags were not refilled

The ironing board was left out

The staff:

Had a 'bad attitude': resetting the room card frequently, making me walk all around to the detached building's lobby to have it made functional again

Maybe it's because it was booked via Priceline. I do not believe that this attitude reflects the hotel executive management attitude against Priceline or hotels.com, because that serves the hotel well.

I won't return here after this trip, and will also recommend to large companies to no longer list it in their hotels map.

I am not likely to return to the Paragon Hotel.
I would not recommend it to friends.
