Pan American Hotel

Hotel was clean and comfortable. Smelled clean. Quiet since we faced the back of the hotel. Very close to subway-4 blocks. Great diner nearby. Paid less than $100/night and it was worth every penny! I would stay there again.

The hotel was close to the subway. It was clean and there were no unexpected surprises.

I had stayed there years ago, it was a conveniently located, affordable hotel where I would be close to my family's home. It is not luxurious, but it is clean and comfortable and well managed. If you are a tourist in New York, you probably will not be staying much in your room anyway. All you need is a clean place to sleep and shower and a place that is close to the airport and to public transportation. So, for us, the Pan American hotel was ideal. Since it is right on Queens Boulevard, there is a lot of traffic and it can be noisy.

BUYER BEWARE!!!. IF you are driving or have access to a car, this is a great little hotel for the price, but if you are dependant on public transportation to get around the city, such as the subway or city buses, DON"T STAY HERE!!!You will have to take at least 3 buses and a subway ride and then still walk four blocks to get to this hotel. It was disasterous!!! DOn't depend on their shuttle for airport trasnport either. They only run once avery hour and a half and then will only pick up the person whose name appears on the reservation. If you reserved the room and did not put your kids name on the reservation, they will not pick them up...only you. BUYER BEWARE!!The money you save by booking here will be spent five times over, just trying to get around in the city and back and forth to the airport.

This hotel is an excellent value for New York. The rooms are OK, a little tired, with small bathrooms, but the beds are fine and the rooms are comfortable. This hotel provides a free shuttle to either airport, and the "R" line subway is a 3-block walk, which makes for easy and inexpensive access to Manhattan.

The only negative about our stay was the restaurant, the food was mediocre and the service was poor; fortunately, there are abundant options within easy walking distance.

This hotel is a great option for a leisure traveler who wants a basic hotel that is clean, safe and convenient.
