The Palms Resort offers all mini-suite accomodations on the beach on South Padre Island. Enjoy your stay in our beach-themed Queen Suites, or in our newly renovated King Suites. We are centrally located on South Padre Island, with direct beach access. The Island shuttle system will take you to attractions on the Island and in nearby Port Isabel. We have a new full service restaurant and bar with spectacular views of the beach and the Gulf of Mexico. A real gem! Almost don't want to tell anyone about it :-)
Room was clean - didn't have that moldy smell you almost come to expect of a beachfront property. Staff was especially friendly. Small open air restaurant facing the beach had a range of food from burgers to expertly-prepared redfish - only problem is that once you sit down there, you really don't want to leave.
Property is on the beach near other small properties and houses, so the beach is not crowded there. Hope they don't change a thing!
We stayed 4 days and it wa heaven each day . The food the service and the staff was the best we had ever experienced . we loved it so much we went back an few weeks later andit was rocking again

A group of friends recently stayed at The Palms Resort on South Padre Island. We were all pleasantly surprised by the clean, well-equipped rooms that were much larger than we expected. We also loved their restaurant (called The Cafe on the Beach). It's at the back of the hotel, on the beach, with a spectacular view of the ocean. The food was fantastic... everything from eggs benedict to steak and lobster. The wait staff was fun and very attentive to our needs. We had a wonderful time there, and plan to make this an annual event at Palms.

Excellent
We liked Location, cleanlines, the remodeled units and the headed pool.
We disliked the old units. They need to finish remodeling all the units. When I made the reservations for Memorial Day, I specifically asked for the remodeled units.
