Okay
Everything was great at the Palms- except for the front desk clerk. She was rude. The room was great and our view was excellent. We would stay there again. A rental car is a must for this property- The strip is a good mile and a half away.

Excellent
Clean, large and nice room with 36" LCD TV.No iron equipment, no cabinet for my suit. The room is very clean, large and has a good view. The 36" LCD TV is very comfortable for me to watch.

I heard a lot of hype about the Palms, and it is not all that. I felt the crowd was cool, but there were a lot of wanna-be's there. It was great for the price, though.
But if you have the money, stay at the Mandalay. Only the stars are treated correctly. I had a horrible dining experience there due to their service. The casino staff was great. There were too many people there during the weekdays. Its only a great weekend party hotel. Stay away if you are hip enough not to care, and can go there just to party on a Saturday night.
pros: friendly dealers, Great Tattoos, ConciergeI went there a couple years ago and the place was amazing. I went there this year and I'm still amazed.

Wonderful rooms and staff, nice restaurant selection, close to parking. All of the construction being done. This is a wonderful hotel to stay in. Although it is off of the strip, it's very convenient to everything if you have a car.

Never having been to the Palms, but having seen all the TV commercials and magazine ads since they opened, I had the notion that this would be a pretty hip, Vegas hotel.
What I didn't realize is that this is just another of many other low to mid-priced hotel in Vegas.
The hotel is off the strip, but only by a few blocks (as far as I can remember). The size of the hotel and casino was on the smallish side, but cozy. Everything was clean but a little bit on the tacky side (I saw ads for women in bikinis everywhere). I cannot comment on the spa, because they were booked for the day.
The room was, again, like other low to mid-priced Vegas hotels. Everything was fairly clean and tidy. The standard room was smallish, but I usually don't go to Vegas to stay in hotel rooms all day and night.
I did check out the bar on the roof, forgot what it is called. I do remember that you have to pay just to get up there (I think it was $15 per person). A couple of big mafia-type guys made everyone wait in line for access to the elevator that takes you up. When you finally get up there, the place is only about 80% full (and 80% male). The access outside was even closed (probably because of the wind). After 15 minutes and a $10 drink, I left.
Overall, I was not overjoyed with my stay at the Palms. It was like a lot of other hotels in Vegas, but on the other hand, the room was only $99, the place was clean, the hotel was not crazy-chaotic busy, and it is located close to the strip.
Best hotel beds I have ever slept on

Best hotel beds I have ever slept on.Lines for nightclubs clog access to guest elevators. Great beds, comfortable rooms, but they have crammed so many slots and gaming tables and so much bling into every possible square foot of space that you can't...
