The employees have no idea of customer service. My family and I reserved two rooms for a week and spent quite a bit of money. The advertisement for the place was no where near close. The Tiki bar did not exist and the kitchens where no near being equiped properly.
In a weeks stay our rooms got cleaned twice and only recieved clean towels twice. When we called to request fresh towels and linens ,we had to go get them ourselves.
We reported a roof leak in our room and that never recieved any attention. The rooms were barely up to par to begin with.
The only employees that were even friendly was the lady that prepared the breakfast and the young man that we met cleaning the downstairs pool area.
When my mother in law went to complain no one would even speak with her about the problems. They told her that the GM would return Thursday, which was our last day there.Guess what, when he showed he didn't want to speak with us neither. All we recieved was "he knew of our problems and it wont happen again". He sent this message to us through the gentleman at the counter. A good GM would have come out and spoken to us instead of hiding in his office. He is right it wont happen again because we will never be back.
I would not recommend this place to anyone even as a last resort. It is not in good shape and smiles and a helping hand must cost extra.

Employees need a serious refresher course in 'customer service'. Lighting is the worse in the room. Sheets won't stay on the mattress and housekeeping has no idea what it means to 'clean' the room especially the bathroom.
Made my reservation over a month in advance for oceanfront, non-smoking, king bed and confirmed this information. When we checked in we were put in a handicap room. This means that they took a regular room and left all the furniture in it but made the bathroom larger.
Had a handicap person been assigned this room they would not have been able to access the bed because on the one side it was too close to the wall and on the other the recliner was against the bed and in front of the night stand. This caused the recliner to also be against the table and chairs which were so close to the air-conditioner that the furniture really wasn't accessible be it handicap person or not.
In the bathroom there was only a face bowl no vanity of any kind. The bathroom had the only available electrical outlet! There was no way that a person could use the iron & ironing board in the room or bathroom. When I plugged in my curling irons in the only outlet there was no place to put them while they were heating up.
We found all of this unacceptable since this is not the type of room we were expecting.
We have stayed at this location for 4 and a half years numerous time each of those years. At one time this hotel was a good value for the money and the staff seemed to actually care about their customers and their comfort.
Over the past few years it has just continued to deteriorate! There is a $2.00 a day charge for the safe whether it is used or not. There is a $5.00 a day charge to 'park' in their parking lot.
We went to the front desk immediately about our dissatisfaction with our room and requested to be moved to the room that we had reserved. The night person said that there were none available but they would have one ready for us the next day.
The next morning we went back to the front desk to inquire how the move would transpire since we would be out of the hotel for the day. Would we need to take everything with us and re-check in or would they move our things for us?
The a.m. staff knew nothing of our situation and said that there in fact would be nothing to match our reservation available for us to move to. However they did offer us a 'smoking' room. We have serious issues with being in a 'smoking' room and explained our situation to them.
We then ask to speak to the manager and that only got us the offer of the 'smoking' room. Followed by the response of "just because it's a smoking room doesn't mean that every guest actually smokes in the room".
At this point we were beyond frustrated and that a reservation made well in advance could not be accommodated. The fact that we were established repeat customers with a serious history with them meant nothing and they failed to even apply any extra effort to satisfy our needs. I should point out that the hotel showed open vacancy continuely during our 5 day stay in the area.
We moved out at that point and went to a hotel that appreciates its customers and knows the meaning of 'customer service'.
I am not likely
to return to the Palm Plaza Hotel.
I would not recommend it to friends.
