Unless you enjoy little extras (like hair) in your food, you may want to find a different restaurant. Eric’s is one of the restaurants located on the Palm Garden Hotel campus. I brought the matter to the attention of the waiter. He did not offer to bring me another meal, issue a refund, or offer a discount for a later date. I will not eat there again.

I had already figured out this was a terrible place before they tried to charge me for an extra night that I did not stay there.

I checked out on a Friday morning, got caught up in a business call and walked out without my suitcase. That evening at the airport when I phone them they immediately told me they were going to charge an extra night even though:

1) I had already checked out

2) All I left in the room was one suitcase

3) They were not full

Even before then, I found the management to be arrogant. I can only assume the middle aged man and woman that I dealt with were the owners as I assume that nobody else would dare to offer such bad service.

My room safe did not work. The toilet did not flush properly.

This hotel made me feel content: The landscaping was beautiful. It was quiet despite being just of freeway.

The Good: Great free breakfast, free internet (wired in room, wireless in conference room), good conference catered food. Bad: refused to honor guaranteed travel agent rate (after I signed for the government rate that was $7 higher), the carpets felt damp, and they had a cold water outage for part of a day.

I was searching for a nice weekend getaway and discovered the Palm Garden Hotel. We had a wonderful time visiting the Reagan Library and going shopping at the outlet mall in Camarillo. Free hot full breakfast. Rooms are great and have everything including free internet. Also recommended is the Eric’s Restaurant and Bar. Definitely returning there.
