I rated The Palm Beach Resorts Hotel an 8, although it could have been a 9. We've stayed there several times to visit my mother in West Palm. The hotel is immaculate, the suites (rooms) are huge, the furniture and bathroom look like they belong in Architectural Digest.
It is only a two minute drive, or walk, to Sailfish Marina, a five star restaurant that is better than any I've eaten at in Manhattan, where I lived. The hotel is in the process of opening another restaurant, one well known on the Marina that had extensive damage during the last hurricane. This restaurant will be part of the hotel, and when we were there in January, it was to be completed by March.
Not only that, but you would be a short drive to several Shopping Malls, two of which are totally upscale with Louis Vuitton and other designer boutiques in it. Renowned "City Plaza" is not far away.
The hotel itself sits on the beach. Hint: buy an inexpensive folding chair at Wal-Mart and use that to sit on at the beach, otherwise, rentals are pricy. All chairs at the pool, of course, are free. The pool is surrounded with about four or five exotic birds in cages, some which talk! The Tiki bar makes incredible mixed drinks, or if you want something special, they'll make it for you, too! Hungry at night for something light, go to the Tiki Bar for a delicious snack.
Every day there is a singer with microphone by the pool, no CDs over a loud speaker system, if so rarely. It's incredible sitting with a cool drink, by a heated pool and see/listen the entertainer with an island beat.
Why did I rave like this? I have nothing to do with the hotel (staff, advertising, or promotion). I simply want to say it deserves 4 or 5 stars, not two.
