Pacific View Inn and Suites Huntington Beach

We went expecting a typical "bargain" hotel (by comparison with other local rates) - no service frills, maybe a small problem or two. What we found was far below that expectation.

"Reception desk" = glass-enclosed box. Three of us, but we couldn't get a second room key. Separate bathroom has toilet only (and no paper provided). "Whirlpool" = shallow, slightly-wide tub and shower in the middle of the main room. For more than one person at a time, you'd have to either lie down and spoon or sit with only your legs covered. Because it was in the middle of the main room, we had to take turns leaving the room for showers. A couple of light fixtures didn't work. The "laundry facilities" are a rusty 20-year-old washer and dryer in the central courtyard/parking lot. And they were usually busy with the hotel linens, all of which had a mild-to-moderate mildewy smell.
