My husband and I had previously visited this hotel, when we were in town on a cruise. We always said if or when we returned, we would stay there.
The location is great, we were in the middle of everything, it’s the most exciting spot on the beach. There were a lot of other hotels around with live music and dancing, but all the whole of Waikiki seemed to always gather at Duke’s place, day and night.
There is always a bit of a wait at the elevator.
The view was to die for, every morning looking out at the ocean, sitting on our lanai having 10% Kona coffee, well this is heaven. We had partial ocean view, but it looked full to me.
The only bad experience was upon check in, it was pure chaos, there was no order whatsoever. We had traveled for 8 1/2 hours and I'm sure other guests had similar experiences. I was verbally attacked by a six foot guest, with no help from any of the employees.
It was a terrible scene.
