Our room was grimy and very dated (1980's). There was no Tiki Bar, Entertainment or restaurant. Our room wasn't visited by housekeeping. I had to get my own clean towels. The coffee maker sat on the bathroom vanity. The rugs were sticky, worn and st

I had to plan a surprise 50th birthday party for my mother, and it came out perfectly! Nancy, the head of catering and banquets was so helpful, as was the rest of the staff! The party came off without a hitch, the food was wonderful and the service was better! I would definately recommend them for anyone for any kind of function. All the family we had to fly down stayed at the hotel and they had a great time! The hotel has a beautiful pool area, and they gave us a very good rate. Everyone who worked there was very friendly and helpful. I definately plan to use them again!

We stayed at this hotel last year when it was the Ramada Inn and it was nice. This year we stayed again to our disappointment. The rooms were not clean, the desk staff was not very courteous and when we had problems with the bathroom overflowing due to old pipe problems, some of the management was put off trying to change our room, which we did not get any assistance in moving, nor did they refund for our inconvenience. I would not stay there again or recommend it to anyone until they clean up their rooms and some of their attitudes.

Decided to stay here because the rates were cheap so obviously wasn't expecting anything extraordinary. Well the first room i got in the ac was so loud that i couldn't even hear the tv. Walked down to the lobby and the guy asked me if i used any towels in the room and asked me to bring him the dirty ones. I said no, so he rudely said its ok. Then gave me a second room which turned out to be a smoking room even though the room said non smoking. It smelled like a zoo. So i went back to the lobby, got a third room which was better but the remote control refused to work. Called the front desk and was advised that nothing could be done. Ok, so all this was within the first half hour of even getting to this place. To summarize the rest, there is no service, if you need anything you have to go get it. The walls are thin so you can here everything in the morning around check out time, impossible to sleep in. It is in the middle of nothing. Would never ever consider staying even if it was free. Garbage hotel, absolute nightmare. Sarasota is an awesome place though and the beaches made it more tolerant.

Attempted to line up ameeting for our social club at the hotel. We were paying for a band, had planned to reserve rooms and were willing to pay for them to set up the tiki bar and pay for their bartender.
Believe it or not they lead us down the garden path. Told us they would allow us to use the facilities because we were hosting a party for over 100 people. Then once they thought we were locked in they refused us because we would not agree to buy food.
Incredible! They could have had the bar tabs of over 100 people (normally they could expect $2,500 at the bar), plus at least 10 rooms, and a free band for their other guests to enjoy. There answer..."you must buy food." We will not have your guests ordering from the menu.
We will never consider any future events at this hotel because of their demanding and misleading approach.
