32 year old man with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure

This is my 2nd stay in the last 30 days and as always, the Omni distinguishes itself as a class act.

From the gracious service, complimentary upgrade (just by asking if one was available) to the refreshing the room (on top of cleaning it), I am a consummate Omni Fan and will be back in 3 weeks!

I attended a conference held at this hotel. I will not be going back. The first night I had no room because the hotel was overbooked. The next night I was given a room which had had no freshening between guests--e.g., a multitude of hairs on the frayed sheets, depleted toiletries and filthy upholstered furniture. While I politely complained about room conditions to the front desk management, the room remained dirty and unattended for the rest of my stay.

I stay at the Omni franchise as often as possible and I must say, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay (3 different times) at the Shoreham and the hotel and staff was top notch. My room was beautifully adorned and my bed as comfortable as they get. I cant wait until my next DC excursion.... I'll be staying there again.

47 year old man with a luxury budget, traveling for business

It was located close to the Metro. The rooms were unique, not the typical cardboard cutout rooms you see in hotels; they had that old elegance.

This hotel made me feel sophisticated: The very stately lobby and the rooms that took you back to the more elegant times made me feel sophisticated.

I am somewhat likely to return to the Omni Shoreham Hotel.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.

This place was a true horror show. Maybe I just happened to get the two worst rooms in the entire place, but what I know is that what occurred is highly unacceptable. The first room my husband, infant daughter and I got had a section of floor that was rotted and carpeted over (my foot nearly went through it); the drawers had dirt in them, the carpets were badly stained, there was clearly damage on the ceilings, the water was scalding hot, the tv reception was poor, the remote didn't work, the curtains were stained, the bathroom had stains all over the floor that look like they hadn't had a proper cleaning in a long time. The list could go on. I reported all of this to the manager and he basically blew me off. Eventually we were moved to a different room, which was not quite as bad, but not much better either. For a room with two tv's, I find it amazing that neither of the remotes worked at all. One tv kept turning on and off randomly. The carpets look like they hadn't been cleaned in a very long time, the upholstery on the couch and chairs was definitely in need of a cleaning as well and instead of scalding hot water in the shower, this time we were lucky to get it lukewarm. So just when I though it couldn't get worse, it did. We had breakfast at the restaurant and when my husband cut into a raspberry, a bunch of little insects ran out. If I wanted insects for food, I would seek them out, not pay $16.00 for a plate of french toast with insect infested fruit. Needless to say, I got that manager's attention and he did clear the bill, I suspect for fear that I would stand up in the middle of the breakfast crowd and scream "Oh my god, there's a bug in my food!".

If I hadn't been working in the hotel for two days at a conference, I would have packed my bags and taken my family somewhere else. I have stayed in a great many hotels in the course of my travels and this was quite possibly the absolute worst one I have ever been in. I know what I should and shouldn't be seeing and experiencing in a hotel that is considered a luxury hotel. I have yet to get a response to the e-mail I sent to them. I am sure like the complaints I made to the hotel management directly at the front desk regarding my rooms, that too will go ignored.

I am not likely to return to the Omni Shoreham Hotel.
I would not recommend it to friends.
