My room was small, but classy. The ceilings were high and it had been updated recently. The shower needed a longer curtain so water didn't splash out, but it was comfortable. The bed linens were amazing, and I slept very well there. The staff was attentive and helpful, including the knowledgeable concierge staff. The hotel is located close to several T stations, great shopping, dining, and history. If you don't have a car, don't worry - you'll be able to get where you need to go!

The downtown location was perfect for our plans, being right on the Freedom Trail and only a few blocks from Fanueil Hall, Quincy Market, Boston Common, and the theater district. It was a short walk to the T station to reach Fenway Park. The cost of valet parking was high, but there was no other parking choice. The restaurant was good with good service. The room was small but comfortable with all the usual amenities including robes and slippers. The concierge staff was very helpful to us on several occasions giving directions, restaurant suggestions, arranging theater tickets, etc.

This hotel made me feel relaxed: Many guests were in casual attire and casual attire was permissible in the elegant dining room, which I hadn't expected. The hotel was quite elegant, but much less stuffy than I expected. I did not feel out of place in the attire I wore to the baseball game, any more than the attire I wore to the theater.

The hotel was beautiful. The only thing I that was unsatisfactory was the breakfast room service.

Great hotel and location. One of the oldest hotels in the city. Great locatoin along the freedom trail, and a quick walk to Fanueil Hall. The rooms are a little small and it's a bit of a walk to Copley Square. However, if it's old school Boston you're looking for, look no further. Side note: Malcolm X was a busboy here. At least that's what I was told.

This is a great hotel. I would stay again and recommend it to others.
