member icon $346/night for this? Are you kidding me?

33 year old woman with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure

Upon arrival at this "Oh-so-popular" hotel downtown on San Antonio's historic Riverwalk, I wanted to scream! I spent $346 for one night and the hotel's front desk didn't even give us our room keys immediately. Their machine was "down". We had to have a bellhop take us up to the room and then another bellhop had to bring us the keys and luggage. The room was small and hot, even though we turned the A/C down to 64 degrees. It never got any cooler than about 75 degrees. The room was supposed to be a riverview room, however, it was at the end of the river and near a bridge with heavy downtown traffic. The sheets felt like they had been starched, the pillows and the beds were very hard, resulting in a very uncomfortable evening. After finding the pool this morning, it was the size of about 5 bathtubs...I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

When calling hotel direct for reservations, we requested the Best Rate or AARP rate, and were given a special of $149. Since we were there only overnight to meet friends, we did not require a deluxe river view room. We quickly checked in and met our friends for an evening on the Riverwalk. When we returned to our room, we noticed it was adjacent to the elevator on the first floor. Needless to say, we were kept awake all night by the constant roar of the elevator. Plus the a/c unit was not working properly. We would have requested another room, however, it was very late and we had already unpacked our bags. When making future reservations, please be careful what you ask for!! You would think an upscale property like the Omni La Mansion would have more respect for their customers. We were very disappointed and returned home from an otherwise lovely evening, very tired and discouraged with the Omni hotel chain.

32 year old man with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure

My fiancee and I stayed at the hotel to celebrate her 21st birthday. Upon checkout she left her digital camera in the room. We called the hotel later that day and expected to locate the camera in the lost/found department. We were told that no camera was reported found by the hotel staff. After an internal "investigation" the hotel manager informed us the hotel was at no fault for the loss of the camera. The lack of integrity by this reputable hotel was surprising. So if you stay there...make sure not to leave anything behind when checking out!

We got two rooms, one for our parents, and the rate we paid was reasonable, the front desk individuals were polite, helpful, and efficient. The rooms we had were the best we have ever had in the Omni chain. We were treated like royalty, the rooms were spacious and clean. I would not hesitate to stay here again. The Omni was close to all of the attractions.

Overall, I was very pleased with my hotel stay at Omni La Mansion. I would highly recommend requesting a room on the 2nd or 3rd floor on the Riverwalk side.

This hotel is not the quietest hotel I have been in, but the Riverwalk view and decor is nice. The beds differ from room to room. We had two rooms and in one room the beds had pillow-top mattresses, while in our room we had thin mattress pads. The Queen beds are more like full beds, and the TV's were very small.

If you can find this hotel for under $100 a night, it is worth the experience. Anything higher than that, I would recommend another location.
