I love how close this hotel is to the CNN attractions. I love how convenient it was to get food, go shopping, and visit the Georgia Aquarium.
We had a wonderful time meeting with our friends. Although we paid in full for the room and taxes for the room online through Hotels.com, we were asked for a credit card at check in to "secure" any charges made while in the room. This was not a problem for us because it seemed reasonable and convenient if we wanted to order room service or anything else.
However, when we checked out three days later, we noticed that we were over charged by 457.24. The accounting department explained that the money will be placed back into my account in 3 to 4 business days. When I asked why this happened, he said the hotel mistakenly charged me for what they should have charged to hotel.com. He said these charges should have gone to Hotel.com. I told him that this did not make sense because Hotel.com was already paid in full and that I have my bank statement to prove it.
The only charges I was suppose to have was that which we charged inside the room. They did not offer any other explanation only said he was sorry. Later, after looking a little closer at the bill, I found other unexplained charges. We ordered room service about four times in our three day stay there. All four receipts (the receipt is given to you at the door when the room service arrives) documented a charge of 2.95 delivery charge and also a "R/S service charge"(gratuity % fee of whatever you bill is).
At checkout, all except one of my four receipts matched my checkout bill. One receipt was charged 10.00 over. This is something I don't think I would have noticed if I had not had a problem with the bill initially. In conclusion, the hotel is convenient as it relates to location, but there is something not quite right with all of this. Be careful and observe for yourself.
