Excellent
this was our first time at a B&B and what an outstanding experience. From the beautiful rooms, to the gourmet breakfasts, to the lush garden, it will be hard to top this experience.
We thought the area was great and the inn itself was ok, but our room, the Lavender Room, was so small that it was really uncomfortable. Also the bathroom is next door, which is inconvenient, and the carpet in the room was is bad need of a cleaning. ...

Okay
We've stayed at alot of B&B's so perhaps our expectations are very high. Old Thyme Inn was very nice but we maybe expected more. It was difficult to take a shower in a bathtub with a hand shower.

This was our first trip to Half Moon Bay and we wanted to make it a perfect experience. After spending a great deal of time investigating all of the B&B’s and reading the reviews for the Half Moon Bay area, we decided on the Old Thyme Inn, and...
I forgot to add to my previous post that the inn's prices are great for the location. Local accommodations for hotels such as Holiday Inn Express are only about $30.00 less than the less expensive rooms at Old Thyme. They also offer last minute di
We have stayed here for 1 night in 1 room and later 2 nights in another room. The rooms were decorated nicely and the linens were very nice. The breakfasts were very tasty although I don't remember exactly what was served. I do agree a little with

An absolute disgust staying here! We wanted to do something special for our anniversary and decided on this place. When we arrived, the innkeeper was upset that we had brought our baby along even though we had informed her when we made the reservation. After we threatened to leave, she said that she would have to charge us $281 anyway. What kind of business does she run? She completely discriminated against us because we had a baby. She needs to post on her web page that children are not allowed. Needless to say, she "let" us stay but she put us in a room half the size of what we initially reserved and charged us the same price.
As she showed us the room, she told us that the linens were very expensive and she didn't want the baby to stain them. She wanted him to sleep on the ground! Apparently her sheets are more important than for a child to be comfortable and safe. How appalling! I made sure that our baby slept in the bed and not on the ground.
We felt our stay was completely micromanaged by her. Even the promised wine and cheese was sparingly served with 6 crackers and a tiny wheel of brie cheese. That was barely enough for 2 people let alone a whole inn.
I would not recommend this place to anyone. If you're looking for a quiet and private getaway, this is not the place. You'll feel more like an unwelcome guest that just threw nearly $300 out the door.
