Old English Inn Hotel

We will dearly miss our beloved Old English Inn. She served us well and will now be used as offices, classrooms etc. for the baptist church who owns her.

The room was fairly clean. While larger than many hotel rooms it was dark & gloomy. It was hard to adjust the heating/cooling to a comfortable temperature. My biggest complaint was the bed. I may as well have slept on the floor since the mattress was hard & didn't give a fraction. The pillows were fine but the sheets wouldn't stay on the mattress & were threadbare. The staff was very friendly & check in/out was a breeze. I might consider staying there again if, and only if, they do some serious renovations which would include paint and definitely new mattresses.

The Old English Inn is exactly what it says it is. There are English antiques everywhere and the building is an English design with English ivy growing up the walls on some parts of the hotel.

The staff is very friendly and will help you in every way and do it with a pleasant attitude. The breakfast has homemade Belgian waffles, 11 kinds of cereal fruits, fruit juices, muffins, grits, oatmeal and coffee. The waffles are their specialty and they serve them with strawberries and whipped cream.

To top everything off it is operated so everyone has the right attitude and they will make things right so you will want to come back. The manager told me they are the only hotel in Jackson to belong to the Better Business Bureau.

I have stayed here many times. It has always been clean and comfortable. Its restaurant and bar are also of good quality.
