Outdated elevator, had to do steps all the time and only wide enough for one person so if you have packages and try to pass someone it was difficult. Very outdated

Good
The Oceanview has a great location- steps from both surfing and swimming beaches, and a 15 minute walk from the end of the boardwalk. The hotel has pretty average rooms, but the atmosphere here is much more fun than any other hotel I've stayed at in ...
50 year old female with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure
we booked the Oceanview for two nights in the busy summer season as it was one of the few with just two nights minimum. We were disappointed to read the negative reviews online so visited for ourselves. We were pleased to hear of the new management and air of cleanliness. WE came to stay in Mid july for our wedding and booked a room for five adults. We planned our ceremony for the beach but the management had promised a lobby area in case of rain. We were lucky with the weather and had our champagne toast on the sundeck overlooking the beautiful beach. Our double room was clean and had adequate linens for our party of five.

My mother and two daughters recently stayed at the Oceanview Motel in Wildwood Crest and would not recommend it to anyone. We knew we had make a mistake as soon as we unloaded the car and we were waiting for the minature elevator to arrive. There was crumbling patches of cement in the walls and stairs. The minature golf area was dirty with tears and holes in the outdoor carpeting. The exterior in general was soiled and dirty looking. The room was small, damp, dingy and well worn looking. The furniture was dated and the sofa and chair was spotted with who knows what. The bathroom was extremely small with 50's toilet, sink and tub and there was no counter space at all. There was one plug in the bathroom over the sink and you couldn't even plug in a hairdryer. There were four towels the size of a dish towel and no wash cloths or hand towels. The bedroom, also dingy and used looking, had two double beds with well worn bedding including blankets that were torn and frayed at the edges. There was very little room to walk in the bedroom and no place to put suitcases. The Kids activities this motel so proudly advertises are non existent! There was no schedule provided and no activities we could find. The morning we checked out you could not get past the cleaning staff because they would just ignore you and make you wait until they felt like moving. You could not get the only elevator to get to the ground floor because the cleaning people were using it instead of taking the steps when they only had a couple of towels or nothing in their hands. Considering what they charged for two nights we felt it was highly overpriced and overrated. The pictures on the website are very very deceiving. They were probable taken when the place opened in the 1950's! The entire place is run-down, ancient and in dire need of a wrecking ball. I'll never be back and I'll be sure to tell anyone that will listen what a dump it is.

Mediocre
This hotel was located in Wildwood Crest which is south of Wildwood. The motel has five floors with all entry to rooms from outside walkways. The walkways are very narrow unless you are on the first floor so the bell carts won't work if you...
