44 year old female with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure

We have stayed at the beautiful Ocean Walk resort in Daytona Beach Florida for many years and even bought a share for our family to attend each year for two weeks. I understand people have the right to their opinion on the resort and possibly could have had a visit that is not to their standards, but for all the years we have attended we have never been mistreated, un taken care of, had any complaints on there restrooms and etc. There always very clean and safe, that is what we enjoy about them, We ourselves have "5" children in all ages from 1 through 13 and everyone has equal share in activities and all. We do not have to worry about safety and if our children go to the restroom, if they can wash there hands with soap and water, its always there for them and everyone, during the busiest time of year at the end of July. Not only do myself and husband go with our 5 children as a family but our family comes along also so usually we have a total of around 30 to 33 people every year go and everyone enjoys loves and really does come back year after year. The rooms are awesome, there pools are great with lifeguards at everyone including the lazy river, indoor pools are great too, not to mention the great hot tubs they have every where and a water slide with a lifeguard that starts at 10am until 6pm for your kids safety taking turns down. The ocean views are wonderful and the best is when your on the beach and it is private with lifeguards and you don't have to worry about your children running out in front of a vehicle, there are no vehicles allowed on that part of the strip! It's great, I don't know how it is possible for a family to have a horrible stay at the resort but maybe they were having a bad day because they didn't get catered to for everything. I guess families will have to go there themselves to see how wonderful it truly is. Words only speak so much!

I am always pleased with everything at the Fairfield properties.

I am very likely to return to the Ocean Walk Resort.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.

31 year old female with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure

I have never written any reviews but this one was worth it!! We went to this resort August 2007. The rooms were great but everything else was horrible. They cater to the masses.

The hotel looked beautiful on the outside...pool, slides... BUT we were on the 21st floor and waited and waited for an elevator EVERYTIME we needed on. At times, there was a line to get on there. We were so packed that the elevators would stop because they were so heavy. The kids would cry because they were so packed in there. The pools looked beautiful but the bathrooms OUTSIDE were filthy and stopped up, not to mention no soap or paper towles. (This was at 9:00 in the morning). It was like this the entire time.

The kids can only get on the slide if there is a lifeguard which is not there all the time and is not affiliated with the hotel so when you ask, they don't know.

Parking is $12 dollars a day, at the hotel (RIP OFF).

The Putt Putt is inside on the 4th floor and looks pretty cheap.

The lazy river was so packed that you had to wait in another line for a float and then your foot would be in someone's face.

I called the store downstairs 8 minutes before closing to get tums but there was no answer. When I went down there, she just closed up early and would not even look my way as I stood by the door. I am 6 months pregnant but that did not matter.

I rarely saw any people walking around wanted to help ar answer a question. I cannot believe we wasted our money.

A week later, We visited a Golf and Spa resort in Maryland that was not focused on the masses and it still had a slide, pools, putt putt. They managed to have clean bathrooms outside and provide Excellent customer service. The kids were having a wonderful time. Next Time, we will look into more of an adult facility that has all the great things included for kids. That way the parents and the kids can have a true vacation. I would NEVER go back to this resort even if it were FREE!!!!

Was there July, 2007. We rented an owners 2 bedroom condo in the north tower, 22nd floor. Had a corner room with a great view of the ocean to the right and a view of Dayona Beach and Daytona Beach Shores to the left. We were very comfortable there. One complaint....called the number provided and requested TP, never got any so we bought our own. Check in day was a nighmare...long lines waiting to check in and with only 4 elevators getting to your room with luggage was near impossible. The rest of the week was better. My grandson loved the on-site activities each day and with the movie theater close, we got to take in the new Harry Potter movie. There is an adult room with free interent access...loved the idea of being able to check my e-mail.

Awful. If you are looking for a packed pools with vollyball games, no room to relax and float, the outside bar that opens after stated time that runs out of beer, pop, and pineapple juice, really had that happen! This is your place. Looking for hidden cameras, all this could`nt be possiable! Stayed in the North Tower 21st floor. Grand parents in wheelchairs. Only 4 elevators!
