My family and I vacationed at Ocean Gallery in St. Augustine expecting an awesome experience as we had experienced several years ago... well, our experience was far from awesome this time.
We had rented a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom condo. to accommodate my husband, 2 year old, 3 year old and I. The first night that we stayed, we went to give our children a bath and discovered that there was no hot water. We gave the office a call the following day (during office hours) and left a message with maintenance to let them know that we didn't have hot water to give our children a bath. Two days had past and we still had no hot water, so we again called the office and again left a message with maintenance. Finally 3 days after staying at Ocean Gallery we were able to give our children a warm bath.
If you choose to stay at Ocean Gallery, I would also HIGHLY recommend asking if they plan to have any construction around your unit while vacationing. Having a 2 and 3 year old, they still take naps in the afternoon. Well, we had no idea that when we rented the unit that there would be construction going on directly below us. It was so loud that the saws, nailer and other power tools sounded like they were in our own condo. doing the construction. Sooo... no naps for our kiddos nor were we able to relax in our condo during the day and not to mention being able to sleep in. Bright and early at 7:30 a.m. the sawing and hammering begins- yippee! We had called and talked to the front desk manager and they informed us that owners are allowed to work on their condos from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. I understand that owners need to do work to their condos during the day, but I think the main office and/or the owners should at least let the people who are planning to stay in their condo. know that there will be construction going on during the week that they plan to stay or just not rent out the condo. while construction in going on. If I would have known that my children were not going to be able to take naps, we weren't going to be able to sleep in and enjoy reading a book or just hanging out in the condo. during the day, we would have never rented it!
Lastly, in the hustle and bustle of packing up two kids and getting out of the condo. in time I had accidentally left several hundred dollars worth of clothes in the drawer of a dresser. I had called Ocean Gallery on a Saturday to let them know that I had left them and they connected me to housekeeping. I left a message with housekeeping letting them know what condo. we stayed in and what the clothes looked like hoping that they would get back to me so we could get them shipped back to our home as soon as possible. As the service we got the whole time while staying there, we never heard back. Monday came and I called again leaving a message and also letting the front desk know, again I never heard back. Tuesday my husband called and spoke with the front desk manager and she said that she would go over and investigate it herself and get right back to him. Again... we never heard back. Wednesday rolled around, my husband called and talked to the desk manager again, she said she'd go over and give him a call back. Finally Wednesday afternoon she called back and said that they hire a cleaning service to clean the rooms and had no way of finding out if they found them- ha!
So in a summary, $900.00 for a condo. that has no hot water, construction going on beneath you resulting in grumpy kids from no naps and not being able to sleep in and several hundred dollars worth of clothes M.I.A. and no one knows how to get a hold of the cleaning company that THEY have hired? HA! Definitely not worth it.
Would never do business with Ocean Gallery again.

Horrible
We had two relatives die during the Christmas holidays. While watching our grandfather's health rapidly decline, we got a call from another state that another relative had passed away. Then granddad died.

Excellent
We have been going here almost every year for the past 10 years or so. The rooms are always in very good condition, and the beach is always looking amazing. Great pools and games. HIGHLY recommended.

This is a beautiful, well maintained resort complex with wireless internet in the game room, several swimming pools, jacuzzis, tennis, shuffleboard, and a wide wonderful white sandy beach just steps away. The units were have stayed in are spacious and elegant. If you don't like Ocean Gallery you have a real problem. :-)
We have stayed here for the last 20 years. There is not a more well cared for complex in the area Units and the grounds are spotless.Close to everthing and you can walk thru to the beach.
WE GOING AGAIN THIS YEAR ! FOR SURE
