I had a very bad experience at this hotel. When I first got there, besides the awful treatment I was given at the front desk, I discovered that to use the parking lot I would have to pay an extra 18 dollars a day (information that, of course, was not available at the website). I was not sure if I would need the car for the whole duration of my stay (6 days), so I told the lady that I would park on that day alone, and then figure out what to do. Well, I decided to leave my car in the parking lot for two more days, and then return it to rental company. So, on this third day, I arrived at the front desk and told I was taking my car out, and that they should not charge me for the remaining 3 days. The new lady, that was as rude as one can possibly be, told me that everything was ok (and looking me as if I was asking the dumbest thing in the world). The last day came and... surprise! They charged me the parking for the whole stay. And of course, only the manager could change my bill, and he was "conveniently" not there (this was Thursday morning!). I had a flight to catch in less than two hours, so I reasoned with the lady at the front desk (the one from the check-in) and she told me that if I left such and such information with her the manager would be able to do fix everything afterwards. I did that, and after waiting more than two weeks with no result, I tried to call the manager. The two guys that were supposed to be in charge (Mr. Jay Vadhar and Mr. Robert Palmer) were never available, and when I finally reached one of them (Jay), he told me nice and easy that it was a misunderstanding, that he would reimburse me and so on. Silly me. Months passed and I am still waiting for my money. My calls are always directed to the answering machine, and all my e-mails never get a response.
So, given the fact that besides this one there are several other bad reviews about this hotel, if you are thinking on saving money by choosing a "nice" cheap hotel near the quarters, please think again.

This was the worst place I have ever stayed at. Lets start with the $18.00 a day parking the was not informed to us until we arrived, then we were charged a $6.00 resort fee to ONE computer for the entire hotel. Then we went outside to the pool that was the size of a bathtub. When we went upstairs to our room it was not to our liking but we were not going to complain because it's weekend trip. We called down to the front desk to speak with costumer service( Red hair women, and another new empoyee) to ask for a air matress or a cot for a guest in or room. Both ladies stated that the hotel does not have them and we were told that if we wanted one we would have to go buy one. Our friend slept on the floor (Day One). Day two we went down stairs to eat and there was spit up all over the hallway. We inform the front desk and it took housekeeping 2 hours to clean it up. We want to bring our food upstairs to our room and we were told that we cant. Left the hotel at 11am and returned around 10pm to find our room still a mess. Housecleaning did not clean our room. We informed the front desked and they stated that housekeeping had gone for the day, when then asked for a wakeup call for 7am (Day Two). We wake up 8am because we did not receive our wake up call when we asked the front desk the Red Head stated "oh I saw the note but I thought someone else did it". We left the hotel around 12pm for lunch returned around 4pm room not cleaned again the cleaning cart was down the hallway with know housekeeper around we took the cart and put it in our room and tolds the front desk they would not get there cart back until they come and clean our room. They then cleaned our room no fitted sheets and dirty washcloths were left in our room. That night we walked down to the lobby and came across a room on the second floor that had 10 cots stored in there (Day Three). Next morning we asked to speak to the manager on duty, he was a joke he did nothing but sit on his butt and try to help someone else while we were speaking to him. We then spoke to the GM of the hotel who made excuses as to why his hotel is being managed like a piece of crap. He tried to put the blame on him not being able to fire anyone and bringing race into the conversation. We asked to be compensated for our terribled stay at his hotel and he stated we act like we were staying at the Wardorf. We then left the hotel only to be given one night free and two day resort fee free. NEVER AGAIN BAD REPRESENTATION OF NEW ORLEANS

This is my horrible experience. We stayed for the French Quarter festival April 11th and 12th. This is the worst experience I have ever had at any hotel ever. You have to back up into the bathroom to sit on the toilet. The house keeping was on strike. I cut my leg on the bed rail because it was sticking out to far the air conditioner was not working at all. When I made my complaint to the desk and spoke to the young lady who I thought was a young lady but she was a ghetto Red Hair Weave wearing girl name Jesann who doesn't give a rats ass about any of The guests. She informed me everything was my fault that the key card didn't work and the toilet was shitty and I felt like I was robbed!!! DO NOT EVER STAY HERE.

This place is ridiculous!!! First of all, let me start by saying that the front desk screwed up so bad that I ended up not getting charged to stay and another person in my group only got charged one night - we stayed for free. The guy was supposed to refund my money because they double charged me for parking. Well, the genius refunded the entire amount of my stay - what an idiot!!
Now, the service was terrible!! The lady at the front desk (with red hair) had the worst people skills I have seen from a front desk worker. She took forever to do anything and you litterally had to reach across the desk and poke her in the head to get her attention. She could not answers questions because she did not know them. The other guy that I saw was also and idiot but I covered that above. A person in my party told them about a dysfunctional shower and they managed to not fix it until the day we were leaving (coincidence?). Also, while sleeping, someone walked into their room claiming they were assigned that room. They had a key and everything.
The housekeeper knocked on my door one day and just busted in collecting towels. She didn't straighten anything nor did she ask if it was a bad time - she just came in. Another room we had was equiped with a toilet that did not flush. They were stuck with their byproducts for the night - it was a crappy situation.
On top of all this, we met a couple of people who slept in their van because the front desk did not have reservations for them even though they had confirmation numbers and everything.
This place is absolutely horrible - I would not recommend it to anyone, not even my in-laws!! Stay away and if you have reservations, be sure to bring a tent just in case!! Good luck
My sister-in-law and I stayed there. Ok check in went smoothly. But then we got to our room, first thing that was noticed was that on my bed it was being held up by weights...the kind you work out with....please fix your beds, then at shower time a dirty washcloth had been left in the shower the room just was not very clean. And was not cleaned while we were there, I know the old saying goes you get what you pay for but for us to stay there again some improvements will have to be made. On a good note the Desk staff was very helpful with questions and such. The location was ok, to get to where you were going, and I did like the on site parking.

OK, it's not a four star hotel, but for the price and the location, you can't really beat it. I've read the poor reviews, but I'm puzzled by them. They're not the experience I've had at the O'Keefe on the three occasions I've stayed there, the most recent being Mardi Gras, 2008. The staff was courteous and helpful, the rooms were small, but clean. The continental breakfast was nice, and they have parking.

Called to cancel reservation one month in advance, however the manager denied that this had happened. This is all despite me having a cancellation code, called and spoken with the same employee twice to confirm the cancellation AND speaking directly with the manager as well as the booking agents. AVOID this money pit if at all possible.

the location is very good, but all the other fails. trash was along the baseboards, and shrimp tails on the floor. mean nasty lady at the breakfast area who seemed to be mad when asked where was the coffee at 6:30, she said coffee would be ready at 7:00 and if i wanted some coffee to go make it in my room. she could have been nice about it, but she wasn't. lady at desk charged $18 for parking until i said the internet advertised free parking. she was not happy or nice. hotel needs to train employees to be nice. the location was good. walked to the superdome and bourbon street.

We had a good experience, the night person Robert was very friendly and very helpful. We arrived at almost 2 in the morning, and was in our room within 10 to 15 minutes from arriving. Perfectly located, once we parked we never went back to the car. We had no problems to speak of, the staff was quick to get us anything we needed. I will be going back in march.
