OHANA East Honolulu Hotel

The hotel has a good location in the center of the town and in walking distance to the beach. It is located near transportation.

The Ohana hotels met our needs and I would recommend staying at this chain.

It was a great location, within a two or three minute walk to the beach. It had good, reasonably priced food. I liked the beautiful views from the higher up floors. The pool was on the small side. The hotel staff was wonderful! Be prepared to tip and you will get better service. Any activities you want to schedule into your trip, the hotel is more than willing to help you or to direct you to someone who can. I recommend splurging on a helicopter ride, this was one of the best parts of our trip. We were there during an earthquake and the hotel staff handled everything wonderfully. I would definitely go back here if I were staying in Honolulu again. You are in the middle of the city and I would never drive there. Once you get out of the city I am sure it is much different. It is not the lush green and waterfall image you think of. The neighborhood is not a good environment for kids after dark outside the hotel. Get to the beach early or you will not get a spot. The stores are all close to the hotel so you can stock up on snacks and put them in the refrigerator the hotel provides in your room. All in all we were very pleased with our trip.

This hotel made me feel content: There was nothing that I needed to have that I could not get from the staff of the hotel or the shops around the hotel. It was a very relaxed atmosphere.

This hotel is good for the price. It is conveniently located to everything. However, the bathrooms were not deep cleaned and they should have been. For this great price you can do more shopping and trips than staying at the high priced hotels with the same service. I stayed here twice now because of those reasons. Also, the activities desk in the lobby has great people!

Very good location for its price!. We stay here everytime we are in Honolulu, and we vacation in Hawaii almost every year! And everytime the experience has been delightful! The rooms are always clean and well-maintained, if you're lucky you'll get a big room with a big couch AND a view of the ocean. Their main restaurant Keoni's offer very reasonable breakfast, and their dinner menu offers Thai and American food. The Roundtable Pizza is great if you want a quick snack mid-afternoon or a light dinner. Waikiki beach is just 3 minutes walk away, and the famous Duke's @ Waikiki and the Pink Palace is just across the Kalakua Ave. The International Marketplace is just round the corner. There's also a laundromat and an Activities Coordinator onsite to book your activities on the island. You only use the rental car when you want to drive around the island, everything else is within walking distance on Kalakua Avenue. Want to try a lomi-lomi massage? Hyatt Regency across from the hotel has a world-class spa. Forgot your toothpaste? The ubiquituous ABC Store has everything you need (and more) and they're on every street corner on Kalakua Avenue. Why waste money paying for a more upscale resort if all you want to do is swim, go sightseeing, dine well or do other activities on Oahu when you can have everything you want for a reasonable price!
