Num-Ti-Jah Lodge overlooks one of the most dramatic scenes in the Canadian Rockies. Out of Bow Lake the mountains rise steep and rugged. The blue ice of Crowfoot Glacier hangs suspended over the turquoise water. To the west, the craggy peaks of the Great Divide tower over Bow Glacier. In todays modern world, there are still only a few basics that we all need at the end of the day: shelter for the night, a hearty meal, and a warm bed. At Num-Ti-Jah Lodge we believe in the simple life. We have 25 rustic rooms to stretch out in, hot showers any time, thick duvets to crawl under, and no phones or TV in the room to interrupt your thoughts. Our restaurant is the heart of our Lodge. The large stone fireplace built by Jimmy Simpson warms the room in the evening. On the log walls, Jimmys collection of animal heads are evidence of an adventurers life in the mountains. Our cuisine under the direction of Executive Chef, Charles See, is fresh, in season and always cooked to perfection

34 year old with a luxury budget, traveling for leisure
A stellar romantic getaway can be had at this rustic mountain lodge. Don't expect five-star luxury accommodations because you won't find them at this authentic location. This is a genuine old-fashioned wooden building with loads of character and charm. Yes, the windows rattle when the wind blows, the stairs creak when people walk on them, and the walls are paper thin but it's all part of the lodge experience. I particularly enjoyed the gigantic stone fireplaces in the library & dining room. I also loved the spectacular views of the lake and glacier. I can fully recommend this hotel for private romantic events during the slow season. Children might be bored.
The bathrooms were retrofitted to some of the rooms and they are very small and basic. My room featured a rudimentary private bathroom with shower but there was plenty of hot-water, good quality amenities and fluffy towels. Other guests had to share bathrooms down the hall.
I can not think of a better hotel in the Canadian Rockies to truly get away from civilization. No televisions and no telephones make this a great escape from the city. The warm down duvet on the bed is very keeping with the style of the lodge.
Admittedly the food in the dining room is very highly priced, but the quality and service was truly five-star. There were no huge portions, just very tasty food from the South African chef. I've already planned a return visit for the quieter shoulder season to enjoy the fabulous french-toast for breakfast one more time.
Good for romance, good for a retreat, probably boring for children.
