The place looked good on the net ,but when we got there the place was like the projects. it could be a great place to stay if they redid the rooms, paint, carpets....

IN THE FLIGHT PATH AND NOT ENOUGH SOUND INSULATION. LAMPS DID NOT WORK. THE ROOM WAS TIRED. FOUND A COCKAROACH IN THE MORNING. CANCELED THE REST OF THE STAY. THE HOTEL AGREED TO NOT CHARGE FOR THE NIGHT, BUT FIGHTING WITH EXPEDIA. AVOID EXPEDIA TOO.

What an awful week.
While the hotel is convenient to the airport, it is situated DIRECTLY UNDERNEATH the air traffic lanes as planes land at night, which makes it difficult to get to sleep, and occasionally woke me up once I did get to sleep.
It is also conveniently close to the highway, so if the airplanes weren't enough, the traffic is always there.
Walls and windows are paper thin, so you can hear everything (in duplicate with echoes) as people walk around outside on the drab concrete walkways.
If that weren't enough, the air conditioner and refrigerator both rattled inside the room as well.
They sprayed the room with something when they 'cleaned' and it just reeked.

I blocked 14 rooms for my daughters soccer team almost 2 months in advance. I was promised non smoking, connecting rooms, full security, clean/updated rooms with new beds etc.
The rooms were filthy, toothpaste in sinks, ashtrays and smoke smelled in most rooms, non working drains in sinks and tubs and roaches.
The hotel had 80 foreign workers who drank at night and approached the girls, ages 14 with parents sitting at the pool area.
I would caution you in staying at this hotel. The management assured us our second night would be better and it was not.

The room was average, but it wasnt anything too great.
The hot water faucet was broken. It took ten minutes to open the door, we finally figured out to lift the handle; not to turn it down like most doors. The toilet had a chip out of it. We had to ask for towels on one of the days.
The breakfast was surprisingly pretty good; they had a good variety of food. It was pretty noisy in our room from the outside noise.

The hotel was less than clean. I could not get into the room, I had keys changed and I still could not get in. Housekeeping was called and they could not get in, so I had to call maintenance. The battery was dead. The lighting in the room was poor. Going up to room using the steps there was a smell of urine on the landing. The water in the sink would not drain.
I am not likely
to return to the North Charleston Inn.
I would not recommend it to friends.
