If you're like me and you base your decision to stay at a hotel only after studying reviews, trust me... stay here. The decor is amazing. The staff was incredibly helpful. I totally forgot about the 3 hour time difference from the East coast but the clerk gladly checked me in early. I asked where some good restaurants were, and she pulled out a map and circled some nearby places, warned me where not go (Tenderloin!), and even told me which buses and cable cars to take to reach the most popular tourist spots. The cable car stop is two blocks away. There's also a grocery store 2 blocks away which is cool because the rooms have mini fridges and microwaves. The rooms are small, no doubt about it. But they are cozy. The bed was very comfy, sheets were clean and soft, and there were like 15 throw pillows if you like that kind of thing. Very clean room and the flat screen TV was a nice touch during March Madness. The hotel has free wifi and free continental breakfast. Bagels, danishes, fresh fruit, oatmeal, juice and coffee. I stayed for 3 nights and never heard another guest beside or above me. There is no A/C but maybe because I was on the backside opening the window was awesome, cool breeze and little noise. There is a hospital up the street so from time to time I heard a siren but it wasn't loud or anything. Liked the stay so much I am returning next week with 3 family members. Two rooms though =)

Excellent
Built in 1906 and bursting with antique decor. Very friendly and helpful staff. Located near so many attractions that I can't name them all. Very clean even though it is an old building. Love the elevator and the stairway. I would definitely stay...

Quite a charming hotel. Rooms on the street side are a little small but who spends that much time in your room while in SF. Bathroom was more than adequate. Staff was very friendly and helpful. It is noted as a non-smoking hotel so I don't know why someone who smoked would stay there in the first place. All the interior decor would soak up smoke smell in a heart beat and ruin it for the non-smokers. Restaurant was great--ate there 2 of 3 nights. Only complaint is the rooms on the street side were very noisy not only from traffice and emergency vehicles but also a lot of yelling and screaming from local apartment residents. All said, we'd return again and stay away from the street side.

Okay
Hotel was quaint, out of the way location, clean but needs some TLC and is very small. Staff tried to answer questions and be helpful but everything they told us was wrong (which trolley or bus to take, how far away things were, average price, etc...

We would stay again. Rooms were all decorated in 1906 style and amenities were excellent. Room had a coffee maker, refrigerator and a microwave. The only oddity was an EXTREMELY noisy neighbor. The hotel management took care of the issue...

The Nob Hill hotel is a great place to stay. The rooms are small, but who spends time in their room while visiting San Francisco? The decor is fun, the staff is friendly and helpful, and the facility is clean. The location is also fabulous --...
