My wife and I travelled to Newark on vacation and decided to stay by the airport thinking it would be more convenient so we could forego the rental car. Mistake #1. Though the hotel itself was nicely located on airport grounds, absolutely nothing...

Overall, this is not a bad hotel. It is very clean and comfortable. Most of the employees are friendly and helpful. My stay was going well and I had planned on writing a positive review until I made the mistake of sleeping in and leaving later than usual one day. Let me explain...because I left after 3 p.m. my usual maid (who btw did an excellent job) had already left for the day. When I returned to my room later that night I found that whoever cleaned on the afternoon shift decided to help themselves to something I left by mistake. I immediately noticed the missing item and went to the front desk to see if maybe the person found it and turned it in to the front desk. They did not turn it in. I reported the item stolen. The night superviser made excuses and stated he would have security come up to check the room to see if anyone broke into our room. This was an insult in itself because I would have noticed if someone had broken in. I already explained to him that we searched the room before coming downstairs. He also suggested that maybe the maid thought this would item was meant for her...I kindly pointed out that there is an envelope in each guest room with the maid's name printed on it that is meant for tips. He did end up replacing the item but did not apologize nor took our complaint of having a thief as an employee seriously. He seem unconcerned. He promised to get back to us on the matter the next day but failed to do so. My advice to you is if you decide to stay there please be aware that some of their employees are dishonest and the night supervisor could care less. A sincere apology could have taken care of this situation but I guess Marriott could care less about how a guest feels after being violated on their vacation. Needless to say, I will never stay at this hotel again.

The hotel gym was incredibly disappointing. Three pieces of equipment I tried to use did not work at all. The fruit infused water in the lobby was very nice, as were cookies when we checked in. Given the hotel being a prime location for business travel, it would be nice if free wireless internet access were available.
The elevator required the use of a room key in order to ascend to the room floors.
I am somewhat likely
to return to the Newark Liberty International Airport Marriott.
I might recommend it to friends.

It is an excellent hotel with great bar and restaurant. The pool looked great, but I did not use it. I highly disagree with the internet access charge. The room information led me to believe it was free. Most Marriott hotels and other hotels include this free!
I loved the nice bathroom shampoos and accessories.

I would definitely recommend it to friends.

This is a "fine" airport hotel. You can be in downtown Newark in a matter of about 15 to 20 minutes and about 20.00 cab fare. If you simply need airport convenience, then this hotel is fine. The food is great in the bar. Particularly make a good ...

The location is excellent. I had difficulty with the plumbing, a dripping faucet all night. The food and service were good. The transportation was excellent to all locations from there.
They addressed me by name and were very concerned about any room problem. They adjusted the bill accordingly. They greeted me with respect and saw that I was comfortable.

The breakfast supplied to my group was complete rubbish and too expensive. The room was comfortable, but they gave too few towels. Even though we called down for more, they did not send any up. Later we were asked to go down to get more.
The beds were soft and enjoyable.

We had a little difficulty at first getting the shuttle bus to pick us up at the airport. Apparently they expect everyone to be waiting in a certain pickup area, but when you come into the airport finding your way around is not always easy. When we called the hotel to make the arrangements for the shuttle to pick us up where we were, the receptionist was not helpful and even hung up the phone on us. After two more phone calls to the hotel it eventually got sorted out; but waiting 45 minutes with all the cars and buses passing by after a long flight is not fun.
After that, our experience was excellent. The rest of the staff was very helpful and courteous, the room comfortable and clean and we had an excellent view of the airport watching the planes land and take off.
On checkout they arranged to have the shuttle back to the airport waiting for us so there would be no delay and the ride only took about 5 minutes.
