My family and I checked out of Nassim Hotel yesterday. It was, by far, the most horrid hotel stay any of us have ever experienced in our lives.
What began as a normal stay, ended in the desk manager literally pushing my father down the stairs and out of the hotel. Never, ever, ever have ANY of us experienced such rude and bullying behavior in our lives at a service establishment. The reason? My father wanted a receipt for our stay. This was the icing on the cake in a series of wildly bizarre antics from hotel management.
We had stayed at this hotel for three nights and, after the first night, discovered our room evidently had some unwelcome guests - cockroaches. We repeatedly requested that our room be changed. We made our first request the night before after my father went to the front desk. The next day, my father went to the front desk and spoke to the management prior to us leaving for the day and explained the infestation to the manager on duty. He also requested our linens be changed as the towels and washcloths in our room all had multiple holes in them. The manager assured us we'd have a new room upon getting back (and then linens would be changed) but when we had arrived back at the hotel around 8pm that second day, the management on duty at that time refused because they had "no record of our numerous complaints." The front desk and management told my father that they could not change due to their rooms being full. He asked why had they not set aside a room change from earlier because we had first requested the evening before and then in the morning prior to leaving for our day out. The manager again said they had no record of either complaint but that we would be able to change rooms the following day (our final night).
The next day we made sure to stop by the front desk before embarking on our journey into the city for our last day in Marrakech. The staff said they were aware of our complaint and that we would have new room when getting back at the end of the day. Well, upon returning to the hotel that evening we were told by the staff on duty that they were unaware of our complaints (??) and that, again, they did not have availability to put us into a different room for our last night. NO apology. They refused to speak further of the issue and when the manger came out he raised his voice to my father and, more or less, told him there was absolutely nothing that could be done. "Sleep in your room or go sleep in the street."
The next day, understandably upset and perplexed by the incredibly poor service received by the staff during our stay, my father wanted to have a conversation with the manager. He requested that something be done for the inexcusable communication mishaps with management and staff during our stay. At first the manager seemed like he was going to be reasonable but as soon as my father requested that a discount be applied, the manager became visibly agitated. Furthermore, the manager began to raise his voice to my father and create a scene. He asked us to leave but my father told him he wanted his receipt first. My father refused until he was given a receipt at which point the manager came around from the counter and began to PUSH my father out towards the stairs that lead out of the hotel.
If you are looking for a take it or leave it kind of hotel; a place where concerns and issues are apparently never addressed or communicated. Or, if you are looking for a hotel where your stress level will actually be elevated on vacation. Or perhaps a hotel that will treat customers as an afterthought and will actually push you out their door when you do not agree with their business practices - by all means - book your stay for the Nassim Hotel. Otherwise, heed the knowledge given here in this review and AVOID this hotel at every possible cost. You could even take the advice of the one manager who suggested to us to "sleep in the street," as you'd most certainly be better off than staying at this hotel.
